Just booked the Airbnb. Cant wait
Count me in!
probably jumping in and out on Friday from Chicago.
Will be there Sunday.
Ticket info? Can we purchase through Marquette?
IN.
Booked the Alexander weeks ago in anticipation. Happy to have Indianapolis and expect a huge blue and gold turnout.
Let's do this.

Think this is my plan too from the Rockford area.
I have never traveled for a game but my uncle, recently retired (2 weeks), told me to do it. We booked an apartment about a mile out of downtown Thursday - Sunday. See you guys up there!

Ah that's great, have a wonderful time with your Uncle!
He is the alumni, i am the fan (now 36). Same with all my other family. I am quite pumped. They've gone alot since the 90's to conference tourneys and the big dance so I am excited to finally do this. Have had season tickets since I was 4 when his sister, my mom, was secretary to Fr Duilio. Alot of beer will be drank in New Berlin tonight.
We'll miss Friday, but will be there for Sunday's game. Hotel booked.

Enjoy the weekend!!
Have fun everyone - enjoy every min and get us to the S-16!!!
We have 3 that will be there all weekend!
Let's goooooooo!
Games at Lucas oil or somewhere else?
Gainbridge Arena.
We're booked. Gotta find tickets now.
The Knight gang will be representing with 3! Staying very close to the arena/Alexander -- any word on Team Hotel??

Wife & I are in. Stupid vivid seats turned 2 $85 tickets into a $235 purchase 😒
Looking forward to being there for the start of our 6-game winning streak!
Let's get a Pickleball tourney going!
When do tickets go on sale?
Where we all drinking before?
I'll be there...back to the city where I was born and went to high school. Haven't lived there since the late 80s. Will get a chance to visit a brother who still lives there. And will hang out with several MU buddies!!
About 80% chance I'm in for Friday. Sunday will depend on tip time. Will probably go to the in laws in Ann Arbor after the game through Sunday AM.
Best options to buy tickets?
See you there.

"O'Reilly's" and "Coaches Corner" are side by side, each about 3 blocks from Gainbridge Arena. I'm sure both will be hopping with college basketball fans.
I will be looking for middle aged and old guys wearing MU swag.
Just got tickets in section 210 for Friday. Anyone have word on team hotel yet?
How are the ticket prices?

For Friday Session 1 only, I got pretty decent upper deck tickets for $125 a pop after fees. Downstairs looks to be somewhere between double and triple that. Haven't looked at Sunday.

Leaning toward metazoa brewing co.
Definitely want to hit that spot up. It's two blocks from where I'm staying.
Tickets procured for $144/each in section 119
I live downtown Indy.
Happy to provide recs.
Metazoa is a pretty good brewery. Not at all a sports bar.
O'Reilly's and coaches are fine. Pretty touristy/downtown clientele. Definitely not a neighborhood bar or anything.
Massachusetts avenue is a bit farther north and has a better "neighborhood" vibe compared to anything near the arena. But it would be a long walk.
I would avoid anything on/near Georgia St, personally. It's gonna be PACKED. Plus the food/service is nothing to write home about.
The Hangar is a newish sports bar between Gainbridge and Lucas Oil.
Close to Gainbridge (walkable) and not terrible: O'Reillys, Coaches, The Hangar, Taxman.
Close to Gainbridge (walkable) but higher end: Mel's Speakeasy, Plat 99 (in the alexander).
Metazoa is really not walkable, but a nice brewery - again, not a sports bar.
Further away, but more "neighborhood" - Mass Ave and Fountain Square.
Anyone get their tickets through MU yet? Don't see any tickets on the resale sites for those sections yet for any of the sessions (same for most other tourney locations). Trying to work a few connections who would have access to them but not optimistic it works out. Otherwise, I'll get them on game day. First MU NCAA game for me. Couldn't be more excited.
Also, saw some other teams announcing an open practice. Is MU doing that? Would love to attend that as well.

I vaguely recall someone posting something not long ago that even a $10k donation does not secure the ability to get tickets through MU. Something like that, anyway.
I forgot what the number was, but with the families and other traveling party from MU, it was something like the top 50 (or fewer) in points got access last year.
Did MU send out any email for future rounds? Usually they ask every round you are interested in.

Marquette sent out an email to STHs about two weeks ago saying the allocation of tickets is very limited and only for university purposes for opening weekend. So, find tickets on your own via secondary markets. That allocation includes major donors, staff, families, administration, band, spirit squad, etc.
It was mentioned that second weekend requests and beyond will be handled at a future time (when the schools should get a larger allocation).
I really liked the area south east of the Soldiers memorial-- Fletcher place/north square, I believe. Virginia Ave has a lot of nice spots to eat and drink if you're trying to get away from the more sports bar or chain places. Liked Bluebeard a lot (brunch at Milktooth, the sister restaurant is also good). Geraldine's supper club was a good spot too.

I have 4 very good tickets together for Session 1 on Friday in Indianapolis to sell. They are lower level in Section 16, Row 16 (right at midcourt). You can look on the Gainbridge website to see where they are located. I am willing to sell them for $325 each (about half the cost of the ticket sites). You can send me a personal message through this site if you are interested or provide me with your phone number and I will call you. Thank you.

I'm sure there will be! MU fans will be all over though. Columbus was a blast last year.
Driving down from Grand Rapids on Friday. Tickets with another scooper. Remember the secret hand shake.
Ticket secured for Friday! I very conveniently scheduled work in IN for Thursday and Friday.
Has MU announced anything yet about the team hotel or a pregame send-off/reception for fans or an official bar for the weekend?
I know they announced all such things last year and had a website at the MU Alumni page to sign up for such events and get more information... But I can't remember when exactly that info came out during the week before the Columbus games last year.
Here is the alumni newsletter with links to the information:

That really does not answer my question. I'm more curious, than anything else. It is a debate within our family all of the time. All I know, my wife would be a 58y silver gal if not for some expensive visits to the salon, but in the past year she ran a 50k on Mt Hood, surfed in the Pacific and going skiing in OR next week. By definition we may be silver set, but sure do not feel like it. Will add, fans on On, Hoka's and Vans.
It hadn't dawned on me that the Lady Warriors are playing in South Bend on Saturday (3:45) and hopefully Monday (TBA.)
Mrs. Hilltopper is suggesting our Saturday drive to Indy stops there first.
Anyone know what kind of game times to expect for Monday? If it was afternoon, it might work on the drive home.
Hokas are so yesterday. Hip and trendy Ons are wear its at, aina?
My old Ons lasted two years, but were falling apart when I tossed em last year.
I don't think I'll buy another round of Ons since they were in pretty bad shape after only a year.

I was in the shoe biz for over two decades and Ons and Hoka's are legit footwear. I am very fussy on what I because the overall quality of footwear is not very solid, imo.

I've been an Asics guy for years...they just fit my feet. My day to day walking around shoes are Asics - and my light hiking shoes are Asics trail runners. But, I've recently started running a bit (for the first time in my life) and the Hokas my wife bought for me are far and away the most comfortable shoes for that purpose.

Asics forever, havent owned another shoe brand for road/gym athletics since I was in 7th grade.
Hokas scare me for running because th carbon plate, I've heard it can cause some knee pain and I don't want to mess with that.

Not sure I can make it Friday now but still hoping for Sunday.
For the record, I dislike both ON and Hoka. My wife is forced to wear Hoka as a coach for a marathon training program and despises them. Nothing but hotspots and pain.
More of a Saucony fan (endorphin speed and kinvara).
I had considered coming down Friday from Chicago but now have a wake to attend. None of my crew was available to make the ride anyway.
I have some Hokas, which I like a lot. After I fractured my ankle and got out of the boot, needed new shoes, I went to running store with actual older guys that watch you walk etc- been there several times now over the years, and I apparently have a NB foot ( women's extra wides needed), so have those as well. My hiking boots are Merrell's and Saucony.

The only good option downtown would be open pickleball at the Irsay YMCA. Not sure if they have any times set for the weekend. Could call to find out.
If you have a YMCA membership from another state, they typically honor it for a day or two. Otherwise can ask about a day pass.

Staying on Market st, near where West flips to East (near Whole Foods - yuck)
Fancy breakfast/brunch: Gallery bistro and bar. Cafe patachou. Milktooth. Garden table.
Chain breakfast: first watch. Le peep. Yolk
Diner breakfast: Lincoln square
No comments or insights about shoes, but my daughter and I will be driving to Lafayette when she gets home from work so we won't have to deal with the snow expected to arrive here overnight.

No, Mr $bags, I spent all my money on airfare.
But seriously, what do you know about it? Weird seats? Good access to bev & bath? I saw a few of them but can't tell what the layout is with those

I'm not quite sure. Looking at the Pacers website it looks like tables and leather chairs.
It also says complementary food and drink but I'm assuming that's just for Pacers games and not this weekend.
I really have no idea what I'm getting but at $106 I thought I'd take a chance.

Looks like Terrace 04 now going for $94 after fees.

Do you have assigned seats for those? Or does it get you into a specific area and then you just take an open seat that's available.

I don't have any recommendations, but if one is picked, my buddies and I will likely try to get there.
Hit up Kilroy's Bar and Grill for the postgame celebration? I'll call in the morning and see if they have a microphone/PA system for Tower to do a live presentation of his game summary.

Downtown Indy was a great time, and the second half of the game was pure bliss.
Stayed and watched the first 10-11 minutes of the CU v. FL game. Both teams can score, It's hard to miss both teams length and athleticism, CU seemed taller than FL.
It was great meeting some Scoopers and talking ball, basketball not pickleball.....
WKU fans were generally gracious, was a bit surprised how many there were. Had wished that Purdue would have lost, so tickets for Sunday would be reasonable.

I'll be driving down from greater Chicagoland. Perfect for me...MU undergrad and Purdue grad school. LFG!!!
Completely anecdotal, but I know a number of MU peeps who are bailing cause of the prices...
I'm glad we bought our Sunday tickets early in the week. Yeah, if Purdue lost we'd have paid too much, but realistically that wasn't gonna happen a second time in a row.
As it is, we paid too much, but we got decent seats, and we paid WAY less than what those are going for today. Plus, we paid relatively little for Friday's game, so the average wasn't bad.
Good luck to everybody still hoping to buy.
