That look hurts my eyes and my heart. Like cross and socks.    But the kids are doing it, so it must be cool now.

I've moved to barefoot or minimalist shoes: vivobarefoot, xero shoes, flux footwear and strike movement.

I look for wide toe box and minimal or no drop, at minimum. Then also complete barefoot if possible.

Check out Altra

Believe our Family has been season ticket holders since before AL or for sure since AL and we have been going to Marquette Big Dance games every year Marquette has made it since 2000. We will be there. Count us in.

It hadn't dawned on me that the Lady Warriors are playing in South Bend on Saturday (3:45) and hopefully Monday (TBA.)

Mrs. Hilltopper is suggesting our Saturday drive to Indy stops there first.

Anyone know what kind of game times to expect for Monday?   If it was afternoon, it might work on the drive home.

BTW, happy Bday.

Considering making the drive from Chicago on Friday morning...

Try a pair of these then.

Not sure I can make it Friday now but still hoping for Sunday.

For the record, I dislike both ON and Hoka. My wife is forced to wear Hoka as a coach for a marathon training program and despises them. Nothing but hotspots and pain.

More of a Saucony fan (endorphin speed and kinvara).
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I had considered coming down Friday from Chicago but now have a wake to attend. None of my crew was available to make the ride anyway.
I have some Hokas, which I like a lot. After I fractured my ankle and got out of the boot, needed new shoes,  I went to running store with actual older  guys that watch you walk etc- been there several times now over the years, and I apparently have a NB foot ( women's extra wides needed), so have those as well.  My hiking boots are Merrell's and Saucony.

If you like Merrells (and have wider feet), STRONGLY suggest Danner boots.

Great call on both. Danner is a great company and make great footwear. Will be wearing my Danner's on Friday with the snow coming into MKE.

Not familiar with Danners but will check them out for sure!

At the office so can't verify, but I think it was the "Rush Pro Ace" Wilson's. $99

Are there any PB courts near downtown? I can go to Lifetime in Indy, but don't have a car and it's fairly far

Will be tough to not play for a few days straight!!

I can't play in the molded soles. Need spikes

I wear them outside the course as well. One season as golf shoes, then they go into regular use. Insanely comfortable, love the zero drop. Extremely durable.

Spikes are not necessary, but not that conversion.

The only good option downtown would be open pickleball at the Irsay YMCA. Not sure if they have any times set for the weekend. Could call to find out.

If you have a YMCA membership from another state, they typically honor it for a day or two. Otherwise can ask about a day pass.

Second Danner. Their goodyear welts are as good as AE.

Real Q: if I'm looking for a breakfast spot downtown, what are good spots? With it being lent, thinking I may look for a bowl of oatmeal (normal breakfast for many Silver Scoopers, hey) and a pancake.

Staying on Market st, near where West flips to East (near Whole Foods - yuck)

Patachou or First Watch are probably your best options. Lincoln Square is ok too.

Fancy breakfast/brunch: Gallery bistro and bar. Cafe patachou. Milktooth. Garden table.

Chain breakfast: first watch. Le peep. Yolk

Diner breakfast: Lincoln square

No comments or insights about shoes, but my daughter and I will be driving to Lafayette when she gets home from work so we won't have to deal with the snow expected to arrive here overnight.
