Hokas are so yesterday. Hip and trendy Ons are wear its at, aina?
Ons are garbage.  Not surprised the confused among us think they're the sh!t

I was in the shoe biz for over two decades and Ons and Hoka's are legit footwear. I am very fussy on what I because the overall quality of footwear is not very solid, imo.

That really does not answer my question. I'm more curious, than anything else. It is a debate within our family all of the time. All I know, my wife would be a 58y silver gal if not for some expensive visits to the salon, but in the past year she ran a 50k on Mt Hood, surfed in the Pacific and going skiing in OR next week. By definition we may be silver set, but sure do not feel like it. Will add, fans on On, Hoka's and Vans.

I don't have a strong opinion on a certain age and definitely not asking people how old they are when i make the judgement.

My wife has a pair that she can't work out in.  We have a friend who's an orthopedic surgeon who says they are the best thing that ever happened to his practice.

Superstitious and don't want to jinx us.  So not heading in. Last time I went to an MU game in Indianapolis was 1978......

Sheesh!

Don't bring that up again!

I do think Ons are more for show than go, but I'm a show guy. My wife would never wear Ons for running. I am waiting for the day they go public.

Uncle Rico

You guys wear shoes not made in Italy?  Huh

I've been an Asics guy for years...they just fit my feet. My day to day walking around shoes are Asics - and my light hiking shoes are Asics trail runners. But, I've recently started running a bit (for the first time in my life) and the Hokas my wife bought for me are far and away the most comfortable shoes for that purpose.

Asics forever, havent owned another shoe brand for road/gym athletics since I was in 7th grade.

Hokas scare me for running because th carbon plate, I've heard it can cause some knee pain and I don't want to mess with that.

To merge the original direction and the tangential direction of this thread, I'll be wearing Hokas in Indy.

Has anyone seen if there's an official Marquette bar for the weekend?

In Columbus, they had us at the R Bar.  Would be fun to have a packed Marquette bar before and after the game again in Indy.

Oh, this is good. Kudos for getting this thread treading back to the title.

Should just change the title to Indianapolis: Sole Call

R Bar was fun except for the fact that it took me all of 35min to get a beer just in time to have to chug it and head to the game. They were severely understaffed for that event.

Speaking of elderly show choices — the is anyone else shocked at how popular the Hoka's are for the silver set?

My old Ons lasted two years, but were falling apart when I tossed em last year.

I don't think I'll buy another round of Ons since they were in pretty bad shape after only a year.

I'm not sure how this turned into a shoe thread, but I'm currently a fan of Olukais.

I've moved to barefoot or minimalist shoes: vivobarefoot, xero shoes, flux footwear and strike movement.

I look for wide toe box and minimal or no drop, at minimum. Then also complete barefoot if possible.

I have Altras for work, and Xeros for the summer time, as well as a pair of Xero boots... I have  pair of vivobarefoot trail runners that I use for garden work.

In case you're wondering, yes, I have a problem.

That reminds me... I need to buy a new pair of shoes from my favorite shoe store in Charlottesville, My Sole Mio.

For NCAA's, that's usually assigned by the host, as are hotels, based by seed. MU's team hotel is the Hilton.
