Kolek planning to go pro
Watched “The Great” on Hulu. Dramedy about Catherine the Great’s first years in Russia. Brilliantly done. We didn’t know what to expect and chose it for the historical aspect, but it was hilarious and fantastically paced and framed. Very British humor in a lot of the delivery, but the modern sort, not the dry fashion of the 70s and 80s that people have trouble getting around. Very impressive cast as well
Huzzah!
my wife and I started Schitt's Creek recently and have blown through it. Why did I miss it for so long? DAVID!She's lined up Warrior Nun next.
I found Schitt's Creek .. awful. My wife kept watching S01 and I refused to get S02 for her. So much other stuff that's got to be better.
I finished watching a month ago with my wife. And I've been re-watching with my teenagers who think it's hilarious. And I just found out today that Chris Eliott lives here in Old Lyme, CT in what used to be The Nut Museum. (How appropriate.) Some lady for decades collected nuts from around the world and opened her house to visitors. She died in the early 2000s and the collection was donated to Connecticut College. More the reason Chris Eliott purchased the house is that it is architecturally significant and unique.
Loved Eliott from back in his "Get a Life" days. We're on season 5 and it's not the same, too much relationship stuff. Still entertaining. I love Stevie's snark.
I found Schitt's Creek .. awful.
More dumb broadway questions. Is it common for Broadway actors/actresses to also be film and/or television actors/actresses? And if it is, do they typically start on screen or in the theater? Or is it not always one to the other?
Yes to question one and both for question two. It all depends on the individual actor and their interests and opportunities.
Now being on dad duty from 7.30p-1am each night with a 1mo old I figured it was time to finally watch The Wire. 2 nights down (9 episodes so far) and loving it. I can see why it's been lauded as one of the greatest shows ever.
How exactly does this work? 1950's much?
I'm wrapping up the fourth season, and it's remarkable. I don't know how they followed this.
But I'll sign up again if there's a Season 2 of Mando.
FYI they had already wrapped prior to COVID and is expected to be released in October. Season 3 has been greenlit as well.
Finally got around to Bodyguard. Boy is it heavy.
