Well .. you did say this:

1. I get to play with millions of dollars worth of HDTV broadcasting equipment.

.. So which is it?   You say you do, and that webpage says MUTV is "one of the few HDTV capable schools in the country."   TVDirector says the opposite.

after all, content is king in broadcasting

BAH!  Now that I have an HD television in my living room, I'd watch grass grow if it was on a HD channel!   ;)

The college of Communications and Broadcasting Department certainly have made every indication that they used the donation money on state of the art equipment, including HD capability.

Oy.  Unless I'm misreading that, you're really not sure if it's HD, DV, or neither.

Nonetheless, I look forward to seeing the blog & broadcasts. Hopefully they'll exceed my expectations!

This is my 1st year doing it and no group is 100% jackass free. We will have interviews with the bball team, coaches, etc... if you want to check it out be my guest. Frankly I don't care if you dislike MUTV or our production value. Hopefully you like some of the stuff we get online, if not feel free to ignore it.

good luck, Jonathan

QuoteWow.  This guy comes in to inform fellow MU supporters on the benefits of MUTV, especially showing MU Madness, interviews, etc., and he gets ripped on.

This must be what bball recruits must feel like when reading (or even posting) at this site.

Good job guys.  Way to support fellow MUers
I have to agree with this post 10,000%.

My goodness the guy comes on here to offer another form of media coverage for Mu and gets ripped!!  I for one know I am always looking for more MU coverage and quickly favorite anything worthwhile.

Again, way to kill the messenger, like it was a bad message.

Thanks for the heads up kid i will definitely be checking it out.  Bottom line...content is king if it is good stuff I am sure you will have an audience.  and they will not care if it is in Hd, uhf, ex post facto, or any other dorky tecnical terms

EDIT: cleaned

I agree no too bad.  For comparison's sake here is a clip of one of Tv directors recent pieces.

To be perfectly honest, I say we let this negativity fade out.

I'm glad you guys liked the commercial, we have a couple of actual sports-reporting pieces that should be up later this evening.

jficke, way to handle yourself with class.    Refreshing.

TVDirector -

I'm so impressed with your willingness to help out the poor lowly college students with your very wise and wonderful advice.  What I am more impressed with is that you did it without at all trying to humiliate him or aggrandize yourself.  Thanks for being such an inspiration to our young minds.  We are all REALLY blown away by your extensive knowledge of the industry.

Hey before we get too low on Boom Goes The Dynamite Guy, he got a job in Texas I believe and is on TV now.

I can't quite tell if this has been resolved or not, but here I go.

For those of you questioning the 'HDTV' remarks let me clear things up.  Marquette's facilities are HD CAPABLE ... this means simply that when cameras and decks are cheaper, they can be plugged in and Marquette becomes HD.  This has not happened yet.  Some of the $28 million of Diederich money did go towards all the expensive equipment that gives MU that capability, but that was a little less than a million.

So no, MUTV is not HD ... but is HD ready (and waiting ...)

Keith '08

P.S. They can do HD graphics, but not much else.

no need for apologies; simple misunderstanding. everything always gets blown out of proportion in an internet forum setting.
