Hey everyone,

I'm a senior at MU right now and on the MUTV Sports Staff. We decided to create a blog to throw content up to give everyone another place to get MU athletics info. Right now there's almost nothing there on account of the fact that I made it today, but we will be posting our student-made/run sports programming and this is (unless you have access to MU closed circuit tv) the only place you can see some great tv journalism.

I'd appreciate it if you guys checked it out.

You won't be saying that if they get videos online that no one else has. Looks like they are broadcasting Midnight Madness. Imagine if they can get weekly interviews with the team or something? Far more than the other media.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say frats are more pathetic and here's why:

1. I get to play with millions of dollars worth of HDTV broadcasting equipment.
2. I get paid to talk about sports.
3. I get paid to talk to MU athletes.
4. I get to be the sole provider of Marquette Madness to the world. That means if you want to see it but can't make it to the Al, you may think what we do is important.
5. I get to go to the Big East Tournament and cover one of the greatest sporting events of the year inside Madison Square Garden.

Tune in, we'll change your mind.

Whoa. MUTV is in HD? Crazy. Why the hell can't channel 4, 6, 12, and 58 get with the program, start broadcasting in HD?

Amazing that the local PBS and MUTV have HD, and the big boys don't (yet).

LOL HD and milwaukee dont go together and last I checked MUTV is not in HD

we get all the local channels in HD in straz... football looks so amazing on it. they are on channels in the 80's and 90's and i think nbc is 103

The equipment we use is HD (thanks Diedrich donation). I'm not part of the engineering that works on how we distribute the feed. If it doesn't show up in the dorms in HD, I'm not sure why.

i get the locals as well in hd, but I can 100% guarantee that no MUTV is in HD. I live in Humphrey

no hd...
guys blowing smoke.
they shoot canon dv cams...
studios have some hd infrastructure, but no cameras, etc.

may be an hdv cam in house, but that's far from hd.

I seriously welcome and hope you do. MUTV could really be a lot better. I couldn't stand the broadcasting 2004-2008, too many jackasses talking like their the crap.

This is my 1st year doing it and no group is 100% jackass free. We will have interviews with the bball team, coaches, etc... if you want to check it out be my guest. Frankly I don't care if you dislike MUTV or our production value. Hopefully you like some of the stuff we get online, if not feel free to ignore it.

Wow. This guy comes in to inform fellow MU supporters on the benefits of MUTV, especially showing MU Madness, interviews, etc., and he gets ripped on.

This must be what bball recruits must feel like when reading (or even posting) at this site.

Our Panther friend has a point. It is amazing the disrespect given to MUTV here .. and MU Radio (if that's still going.)

Years ago, both those broadcasts were .. stealth media, since nearly no one could get the signal. But now .. what's with the derision?

If you're a student, hey, it's your fellow students trying to put out a project that will help them prepare for a future in the media.

If you're an alumni, WTF are you doing criticizing students for doing an extra-curricular?

MU Radio is still going although is confined to streaming online for the time being.

I urge people not to read too much into this, if it makes you happy to dislike MUTV, by all means continue to do so (although I'm not sure why it would make you so happy). If you are into MU sports and like online distractions, check us out.

Just to let people know we are already in the process of scheduling 5 interviews with the men's bball team.

We got millions of dollars in donations from the Diedrichs; they spent much of it on new equipment. Perhaps there's a difference between how a Hollywood studio is equipped and how MUTV is equipped, but the distinction is irrelevant. MU has one of the best equipped college television stations in the nation.
