Quote from: WhiteTrash on October 04, 2026, 04:20:57 AMBoth teams play on the same field with the same rules. Can't make it any fairer than that.

I am a recent bandwagon Brewer fan, so I did like the final score, but either way, that was the most exciting game of the post season. These are two really great teams.

Exactly right. How is this any different than the idiosyncrasies of Fenway or Houston, or the wind tunnels at Wrigley.

Padres complaining that we should use technology to determine that it was a HR when all available tech says no.

Not to mention the weeds they have growing on their outfield walls.

I know Machado is saying that, but the manager said post game "those are the rules and we play tomorrow."
"I am one of those who think the best friend of a nation is he who most faithfully rebukes her for her sins—and he her worst enemy, who, under the specious and popular garb of patriotism, seeks to excuse, palliate, and defend them" - Frederick Douglass

Yes, the stupidity of those two declaring it a HR without knowing the rules.

Quote from: MU82 on October 04, 2026, 01:33:10 AMI don't dislike Wainwright and Pierzynski, but they sounded dopey. Amin literally read them the rule - which clearly explained that it was going to be an out - but they kept saying it was gonna be ruled a home run.

Great win by the Crew, surviving a rare rough start by the Miz. It's what real good teams do.

CreightonWarrior

No ball with that launch angle + exit velocity has ever been a HR.

Im a huge Waino guy. He played with Yadi so you KNOW he gets ball and how to play the right way. If he said it should've been a HR then it should've. The cardinal way.

That's pretty much where I stand.

Quote from: GB Warrior on October 03, 2026, 11:38:15 PMStatcast had that going 325. Trust the parabola.

Was just looking at those stats. Sounds like it would have been well short, around where Churio was positioned, or tailing out of play.

So crazy play and extra drama, but likely didn't affect the game.

Uncle Rico

Padres left how many men on base last night?

Yes.  The Fox announcers and Padres fans have no idea what they're talking about.  Chourio was fantastic both offensively and defensively.  Special player.

CreightonWarrior

Padres have done an incredible job of grinding down our pitchers.

It's early but walks will kill you.  You have to give SD credit for taking some of these pitches.

GB Warrior

You will give up a lot of walks if the umps miss multiple check swing strikeouts

True.

I'm sorry, but there are a number of  home plate umps that are absolutely awful.

Should harpoon one like a manatee to scare the others into better calls

They can't be held accountable for unfortunate calls they made.   Slate is wiped clean.

A completely uncalled for and a level 5 ignominious comment.  Manatees are flawless members of the animal kingdom.

The Brewers need to make sone noise now. The Padres pitcher has great stuff but it's time to respond.

CreightonWarrior

Playoff Turang already in peak form.

Poor discipline there for sure.

What the Brewers need is a hit. Any hit.
