In a different state the San Diego state version of viper is mad they aren't pulling "local" kids 13hrs away from crescent city.

Sure, I'd like us to sign some good Wisconsin basketball players, and I have no idea why we don't.

But mostly, I want us to sign good players no matter where they're from. I'd put 2022-24's TK, Oso and Kam against whoever the 3 best college players from Wisconsin were those years.

Of the seven players who averaged at least 2 ppg for Al's championship team, a grand total of 1 was from Wisconsin (Rosenberger, who averaged 7.3). Can't speak for others, but while watching the 1977 NCAAT, I wasn't saying, "Damn, I wish Marquette had more Wisconsinites on the team."

I seriously don't get the obsession some of the Wisconsin posters have with arbitrary state boundaries framing them as "local". Henry for example was from an area almost 5hrs away from Milwaukee, about the same distance Indianapolis is. Just because a kid is from "Wisconsin" doesn't make him local. If a kid was from Hudson is he a "local kid" when he's technically from a suburb of Twin Cities? If a kid was from Kenosha they may have grown up with parents using Chicago commuter rail for work and raised cubs or even bears fans.

Jaxson Davis from Warren Township (Gurnee) is way more local than some of these up north Wisconsin boys.  But he doesn't get the "local" reputation on here

I hope you can, Muggsy. Some serious HS talent from Wisconsin going out-state. I'm curious what kind of relationship with state HS coaches Shaka and staff have? I guess I don't necessarily care where we get players from...but would be nice to occasionally keep a local, nationally touted star home.

Momcilovic averaged 11 points and 3 rebs in 2023-24 and wasn't exactly a defensive wizard. Both TK and Kam were well better than Trimble during the years they overlapped in college. Bond ... that's funny. Kon in 2024-25, I'll give you.

1stud every 10 yrs? The state of WI is producing significant high major talent annually. Are you not aware that inviting state HS coaches to practices to The AL costs nothing? Have an admin send out invites. There's no trapsing around involved. Don't care about out-state high schools? Invite coaches that are within 50 miles of campus. I mean, MU basketball is coming off a 20L season!!  Why limit things? Have vision. It's not like Shaka is demonstrating himself a master recruiter. Again, sales 101. This is a low cost (lunch, qtr zip MU pullover)/no cost outreach.
