I don't ever remember seeing something that strong.

I have been privileged to travel a lot pbi, and I know you have as well.   I've been to the Carribean numerous times on dives and twice to Jamaica.  They (as well as the Haitians I have met) are some of the warmest people I have encountered.   And no, we weren't smoking ganja.  These are two countries I will always root for and they've had tragic histories.  We need to help as much as possible in this situation.  We all know the debacle of the funds raised for the Haiti earthquake.  We must be ready to act immediately if this is as catastrophic as predicted.  God bless the people of 🇯🇲.

Nope.  If it were up to me, guys like Pasteur would be vilified.  Jonas Salk, too.

Coffee every morning is a must.  Rarely in the afternoon unless I'm having an espresso for some reason.
+ on the Coke Zero!  I have one of the several flavors about twice a week at lunch and stick to seltzer water the rest of the time.
German style beers anytime are a good time.

LloydsLegs

Full report at age 61:

Morning: Two drip coffees in the am (keurig french/italian roast when at home)

All Day: Water (including a spindrift or LaCroix grapefruit flavor at lunch)

Night/dinner:

If at home during week: one beer (usually pilsner/lager/kolsch/marzen/saison/farmhouse ale these days) or one N/A beer (Best Day Kolsch the current favorite, but anything but IPA's for the most part) or water;

When out: Rye Manhattan or other usually brown liquor cocktail and a beer/or wine (if out for a longer night, have started to add in N/A's); and

At home on weekend: Rye Manhattan or other cocktail.

At the movies:  the one time I'll have pop (yes- "pop"):  1/2 and 1/2 diet coke/cherry coke (unless they have diet cherry, and then that's the move).

Watching MU games on TV:  one beer or N/A

Attending MU games (or other sports events): one beer

When with MU friends:  all bets off (current translation: one night go way too heavy and the next try to survive).

What has happened to me?

Since Wojo left, my drinking during Marquette games has dropped significantly.

Excuse my ignorance but do bars/restaurants generally carry a decent Amaretto?

The reason I ask is that I recently co-hosted a dinner party, but am not skilled when it comes to desserts.  What I decided to do was buy vanilla ice cream, crumble Amaretto cookies, and serve that with a shot of Amaretto liqueur.  Needless to say all of our guests were extremely satisfied with that combination.  It's so simple that I was just wondering if restaurants do this?  Or is it always the shot of espresso and vanilla ice cream?

He was a 19th century Frenchman who was against smoking and seemingly didn't have an affinity for Parisian prostitutes, unlike all his contemporaries.  All his microbiology and disease prevention expertise was no match for his refusal to give his body two of the key inputs the Victorian Frenchman was optimized to run on.

I do the same thing, except with Ginger Snap cookies and a shot of Malort.

Why would you do that?  Hopefully you're managing okay.

ATL MU Warrior

Coffee until noon.  Water rest of the day.  Still drink milk (1%) every other day or so. juice or soda very rarely.

For booze, generally rotate between manhattans, gin martinis, gimlets (summer) and bourbon either on the rocks or in a Boulevardier. Almost completely off beer as I get older because of the incessant need to pee.

Here in Florida, no, it's some cheap one, if at all. Low volume alcohol that doesn't age well.
Funny, I was just in a high-end bar that caters to younger folks. A couple of ladies that were definitely not the demographic but probably closer to my age asked if they had good amaretto. The young bartender pulled out the nine dollar a bottle stuff and said is this good? no, no it's not.

I generally like Gozio or Lazzaroni.

Those small amaretti cookies are phenomenal.  I think all good cocktail bars should absolutely serve some version of my dessert.
