Good hire.

Quote from: wadesworld on June 14, 2026, 12:05:35 PMEh I know it's the minority of them but throwing crap at Wemby getting off the bus, beating up people wearing Spurs jerseys, and constant whining about reffing, I would've been fine with NY sports fans not getting this title.

To be fair, I would wage a LARGE, super majority of the people creating the most chaos/damage/violence aren't really Knicks fans or that enamored with the actual basketball portion as much as bandwagon hype.  It was really easy to see people posting on social media about the Finals and go back a few years to see they were all about the KD/Kyrie/Harden Nets.

The diehard Knicks fans, even younger ones, were watching games with family and friends and losing their minds/crying/getting emotional, not rioting in the streets, lurking around MSG causing drama, or being generally insufferable.  I found their joy and disbelief during the run to be shockingly endearing.

Really not all that different than when the Cubs won in 2016, I know 3 people who were arrested/cited for vandalism or disorderly conduct in the celebrations afterwards.  None were originally from Chicago, none had been to more than 5 Cubs games in their lives, and 2 were wearing Cubs gear that might as well of had the tags still on it.

I thought Wemby was really very good at fouling without getting caught. His timing and vision (knowing when the refs are not likely to catch him) was impressive.  He and Floppy have a lot in common in that way.

Brunson scored an astonishing 42.7% of the Knicks' fourth-quarter points in the NBA Finals. And he wasn't just Mr. Clutch in the Finals. Brunson averaged 9.9 fourth-quarter points during New York's playoff run, tied for the second-most in the last 30 years by any player who reached at least the second round. The only player with more? Brunson himself in 2024 (10.1).

People seem to be a little lost about why Brunson is so good.  His ability to score from every spot on the floor is what makes him so special.  Because he's only 6'2 (perhaps 6'1), there is a perception that he can't get clean looks at will over larger defenders.  That perception is just wrong. He even posts taller guys and converts buckets at the rim.  You add the clutch gene that he clearly possesses and his greatness is undeniable.  There are 5 players that have won the NCAA title, NBA championship, and MVP of the Finals.  He's one of them.

He's won zero titles without Tyler Kolek.

I just heard advertised and his name was specifically mentioned.  You can meet Tyler Kolek at Fanatics Fest NYC at the Javits Center from July 16 - 19.  He'll be there with the Knicks.

Just watched the Knicks' championship celebration, with all players, coaches and top management getting keys to the city from Mamdani.

Kolek received loud cheers when his name was announced and he went up to get his key. The starters, especially OG, KAT and of course Brunson, elicited the loudest responses.

Dolan got the definition of a "smattering of applause," but at least this time nobody booed him.

As an owner himself, I can understand why.

I didn't realize that Novak had left the Bucks to join MSG.

He was at the parade. I heard his name mentioned as among former Knicks players in attendance and I know he does broadcasting with the team.

So what the H are the Bucks gonna do witb this Giannis trade?  I guess the Miami offer is better than Boston because I don't see Jaylen Brown playing in Milwaukee.

What happened to the NBA Draft buzz?  Will the Bulls take Wilson?

Giannis for Hauser straight up. Get the dentist money while the team stinks.

The Giannis return is...fine?

Gotta hope those 2031/2033 picks turn into something (either from Miami sucking, or trading them elsewhere)
