Whomever divulged this information this put people in danger and should not be employed any law enforcement agency.

But they are perfect for a cabinet position

Quote from: CountryRoads on September 12, 2025, 09:42:45 AMOne interesting piece of fallout from this event is how many people were "canceled" over it and lost their jobs as a result of a post they made. On the other end of that, some people were misidentified as being involved which severely negatively impacts their and their families lives for the foreseeable future. Not seeing any benefit to having a public social media profile unless for personal branding purposes that are directly for business or for career networking or something along those lines.

Also, I don't really get the obsession with keeping score on which "side" is committing more of these acts than others. There's usually a lot of gray area in every instance and you'll easily be able to be find "trusted sources" that will tell you what you want to hear one way or the other. MSNBC, a trusted and established news network, said on air that it may have just been an accident from a supporter during celebration. Or maybe that clip was fake and was AI. Hard to tell these days and it takes a lot of mental energy to parse through what is real and what is not. Most of the time, it's not worth trying.

Because violent crime data is important

Because:

1) One side is responsible for a large majority of domestic terrorism, per the statistics, and 2) that same side screeched "This is War!" before a single fact was known.

If these details are true, could see this getting brushed under the rug quicker than the Trump shooter.

Quote from: Butt Johnson on September 11, 2025, 08:57:49 PMIs it more embarrassing to be demanding everyone be more sad about podcaster Charlie Kirk or being actually torn up and distraught about podcaster Charlie Kirk

It's understandable. Kirk hated the same people Black Hat hates.

And the fact we have institutions going out of the way to praise Kirk, give him moments of silence at football games, fly flags at half staff, etc. is just downright embarrassing.

Guy who says he's "out," only to come back and post a bunch of family photos of a guy he's never met, then to say "goodnight" to everyone, continues to post despite not being smart enough to post an actual GIF and has to post a link.

Hope you slept well!

Yeah I was catching up on this thread and responded before I saw that information.  The internet really drags people in doesn't it?

First things I've seen suggest this is a guy who may be nominally "right wing" but is more likely a terminally-online-brain-poison guy. References are the types that will make sense to people only if they're plugged into very very strange corners of the internet, just like the school shooter with all the stuff written on the gun. Those messages are indicative more of the Terrorgram/nihilistic-terrorist axis than the dedicated political actor axis of killer.

Yeah, to me it reeks of nihilist behavior akin to quite a few of the recent shooters.

But instead of deciding whose side this kid was on, a lot of people made assumptions.  Shame on them.

Having said that, I'll wait for the trove of information that is likely being dug up as we type, to be released.

This is what leadership looks like...

Asked on Fox & Friends how people from the left and right could ever unite in view of the nation's deep divisions, Trump replied: "I'll tell you something that's going to get me in trouble, but I couldn't care less.

People really aren't ready to delve into the whole influence of the Terrorgram Collective and similar nihilism-black-pill-thought on modern mass-shooter motivations. And, frankly, trying to explain it to someone is functionally impossible without looking like Charlie Day doing a "pepe silvia." I cannot imagine under any circumstance any "mainstream" media outlet doing even a passable job at explaining it.

That's why you get all of the ideology of the mass-shooters flattened to "mental illness" and then they leave it at that.

If this person is tried and convicted in a court of law, I hope he is prosecuted to the fullest extent.  However, the cynic in me thinks that as he is from a white bread republican background, this will end up as a murmur.

Quote from: brewcity77 on September 12, 2025, 09:47:45 AMThey've arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson for the shooting. Based on initial reports, he came from a Mormon family, his dad is a pastor & was in law enforcement. Robinson once wore a Donald Trump related costume for Halloween. Public records show he was not registered to a political party.

So far, the US corporate media is ignoring or downplaying them. If Robinson had a liberal background, any photo of him with a gun, much less a military machine gun and anti-tank weapon, would be plastered all over their digital front pages.

In Charlie's honor, I took a day off from empathy.   I feel dirty and am now again following the teachings of Jesus.  I should probably go to confession.

According to that banned guy I can only guess your soul has been "converted to the devil" like mine. I don't follow religion that closely, but it seems like calling bad people out as bad people is a sin now.

I'm sure you can purchase an indulgence from your local parish to get out of it, but I'm not sure how that works. I asked my dealer, and they don't sell indulgences.
