How many losses can OSU take and still make the Playoffs? Luckily for them, Oregon and Michigan both stink. But they still have at Iowa, at Indiana, and at USC. Even at Nebraska could be dangerous.

The more interesting thing here for me is ESPN, which still considers itself a journalistic operation, continues to carry water for federal legislation. Two weeks in a row now they've dedicated large segments of GameDay to advocating for the Protect College Sports Act, without providing any air time to anyone with an opposing view.

ESPN is owned by parent company Disney, which is heavily invested in college sports, including owning the television rights for the College Football Playoff. According to a report this week from OpenSecrets, a research organization that tracks money in U.S. politics, Disney listed college sports legislation among its political lobbying disclosures this year.

Also:

An ESPN source told The Athletic that Cruz, who was in Austin for the game, expressed interest in coming on the show to discuss the legislation. That source called it an "easy decision" given the timeliness and relevance to college football, and added that GameDay had not received any requests from a senator or other figure (like a coach or athletic director) opposed to the legislation — but would "obviously do the same" if it received such a request.

Obviously, ESPN should have reached out to any number of congresspeople who have expressed opposition to the legislation.

Yes and no.  OSU got conservative and apathetic in the second half, but down the stretch, Texas made every play they needed to and executed with an insanely thin margin for error.  Arch wasn't great in the first half, his WRs didn't help, but down the stretch he was steady, made all the right decisions, wasn't rushed, and fully lead that offense when they needed it. 

No matter how bad OSU executed on offense or how badly their kicker shanked that last FG, Texas still had to score 21 unanswered in the 4th quarter against the #1 ranked title favorites.  Thats beyond just 1 team giving the game away.

USF 28, Army 24

We were at our neighbors who are USF grads so the game was on.  In the second quarter, Army got the ball on their 15 with 10:10 left.  They called a TO with 0:37 on the clock at the USF 22.  They took just under 10 min to go 57 yards. I support the troops but that is football terrorism and anyone who claims to love the version of the Triple Option where that is the result needs to be checked for mental deficiencies. Of course Monken called a TO and then after, went for it on 4th down and scored 2 plays later, so Option enthusiasts got to rejoice instead of the ignominy of a 10 min drive for a 39 yard FG. 

Needless to say I was not unhappy when USF scored 2 TDs in the last 5 min to steal it
