Marquette Football to the SEC.

Quote from: MUBurrow on September 08, 2026, 12:32:33 PMObviously a bluff, but once these things start rolling they can have a momentum all their own. So hey, you never know. Goes without saying that this would help Marquette's cause.

It may be, but if LSU calls them on it, there about about a dozen ACC/Big 12 programs who would crawl over a mile of broken glass for the chance to replace them.

Somewhere in Doddsville, Herman has read this and is thrilled that his dream of resuscitating Marquette football finally has a possibility of coming true.

My favorite part of college football is that you can just sue anyone and everyone for a result you don't like. Truly American sport

It has always been the MOST AMERICAN sport.  I'm not sure it's particularly close.  It really captures all American regions perfectly and then the nation collectively.

There's probably a work out there highlighting this, but I'm not sure where.

Division III powerhouse Mount Union (Ohio) lost its first regular-season game in 10 years on Saturday, falling 24-23 to Wheaton College (Illinois) on a blocked extra point to snap their 85-game winning streak in non-playoff games.

Just how dominant is Mount Union? The Purple Raiders have lost a grand total of four regular-season games in the last 33 seasons. Before Saturday, the last time they lost one was on Nov. 12, 2016, when John Carroll (Ohio) snapped their 112-game winning streak.

The Ohio Athletic Conference is weak as can be. Especially now that John Carroll has left.

As Pak said, they aren't the dominant D3 program they used to be.

Thanks for the info on Mount Union, Pak and Sult. Didn't realize they were kinda paper tigers now.

That's why I think the college football Twitterverse, and I don't mean those with the major networks, have about of an accurate understanding of America as pretty much anyone.

NEWS: LSU football is adding two players to the school's roster, which will complete it at 105 players, per ESPN sources. This will lock LSU's roster for the rest of the year, which will eliminate the program's ability to add Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris.
