Without rule changes, redshirting players should never happen going forward.

No point in spending resources on a player who might never play a minute for your program.

Have to recruit 15 players every year. I would hate to be a coach this day and age.

Should never have happened last year. No idea why people were defending it. Redshirting 3 players on last year's team was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.

But when you land recruits with the promise of not recruiting over them in the portal, and then recruit over them in the portal, this kind of thing happens.

Sheek would not leave knowing he was going to be the number 1 option as a freshman. I think there is more to this and maybe Shaka has got a 5 he likes in the portal. Otherwise I can't see sheek leaving.

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise assuming Shaka goes to the Portal and picks up another 5.

Overall very disappointing though.

It's hard for me to believe that this has anything to do with redshirting last year if that was the plan when he came in.

If he's upset that they brought in somebody that might be taking some minutes from him that's going to be a problem for every young player in this environment

Sheek may have been thinking exactly what I have been talking about - Shaka's weird thing with 18. Prob waited til the end to see if 18 would leave. Now, needed to notify and did bc 18 don't.
