If Shaka is going after Tylen Riley and Nolan Minessale, he's going to have to really manage that locker room as both aren't going to start for MU next year unless there's an injury to Adrien or Nigel. And if MU does bring in both, Nash Walker is going to be sitting quite a bit.

If you really dont see strikingly similar archetypes, I can't help you. But you do you.

I can't tell if you are trolling or not but Fru literally scored 70 points more in his one season than Matt Heldt scored in 4 years. They aren't even similar statistically let alone in actual play style.

I will gladly "do me" if it means that I can differentiate between basketball players beyond what their field goal percentage was.  But Shaq shot 61% from the field in college, Heldt shot 64% from the field, so because of Shaq's higher volume, he is a better version of Held.  Neither shot 3s and both were efficient on 2s.

You may be right, but there's an easy workaround for that by just starting Riley and having Minessale off the bench. Probably not the ideal size in the back court of a starting lineup but it would still work. Minessale is versatile enough to come off the bench and fill in 1-3 as needed, Owens 2-4.

The combo guard seems like the thought.....Then when James is resting.....Put Stevens at the point.  Or some other version of combo.....Let's face it....James is playing 30 a game....

A back up point is probably not in the cards....

A combo guard that shoots could be a good "change-up" diversifier for the line-up thing.....

I am assuming two combo guards in the line-up together with Owens to have 3 ball handlers on the floor....

If you try for a point guard.....It will not be a quality player....

I would rather get a 2027 recruit to learn from James in his last year or two.....

His size will limit his draft year.....Not saying we won't have to pay him a $hit ton.....

Yeah, very reminiscent of Matt Heldt.  And if there's one thing I think of when I think of Matt Heldt, it's a guy with incredible lateral quickness for a big and an ability to switch onto guards on the perimeter.
