Quote from: Zog from Margo on April 12, 2026, 01:11:43 PMI never got the impression that MU pursued Momcilovic very hard when he was in HS.

ewww.

IIRC TJO was on him early and HARD. Lots of other schools offered, but looked like a tough climb for the rest early on.

Even if he opts against the draft, I'm fairly confident he'd command more money than MU could realistically offer. I'd love for us to pursue elite portal talent, but Momcilovic/Bidunga-caliber players are probably out of reach. That said, I think we can and should be competitive for the tier just below that level.

Quote from: Jay Bee on April 12, 2026, 01:05:20 PMYes.. I know we've been told Nigel is worth like $6M lol, but for MM... even if he's told by teams they'd take him in the last ~5 or so picks of the first round, we're talking I think $2.3-$2.6ish for year 1 comp in the NBA.. to think that he could make at least somewhat close to that in college and try to move up his draft position the next year isn't crazy... tough call.

Dude should stay in college but transfer to MU.

Quote from: The Sultan on April 12, 2026, 12:35:51 PMMilan is definitely staying in the draft barring the unforeseen. He's a projected first round pick.

Disagree. I don't think he's coming here but I don't think he's consensus first by any means. Will probably make more in college, similar to Yaxel last year.

He'll fit in well there offensively, and I wouldn't be surprised to see his defense improve at least some.

Should we kick all marquette students with previous DUI'S out of the school?

You compared a fatal drunken dui, with a small fender bender that may or may not have even been caused by the player.

WTF are you talking about?  Do you have a head injury that you never got checked out? Or are you just dumb?

This discussion has nothing to do with Marquette students so that comment is completely bizarre and not remotely relevant.

Next, I did not compare a fatal auto accident to a fender bender.  He made a decision to drive impaired - it doesn't matter that there wasn't a tragic outcome.

If you don't think there would be extra sensitivity at Marquette about bringing in an athlete in with a DWI after what happened you're not particularly bright.

Nah. But there will be no Ruben sandwiches sold at Fiserv because of this.

Guesses from anyone as to when we will see the first transfer announcement to Marquette? Hoping Shaka has something good in the works.

Hahahahahaha. Tell me that the number 1 center in the ncaa wants to come to Marquette,  but he has a dui.

Tell me they won't accept him.

Come on don't be so dense.

He's in the 20-40 range. He'll go through the process and maybe get a guarantee. Otherwise I foresee him staying in college

Has anyone mentioned the possibility of Ballard bringing in someone from his FIU squad? They currently have five announced transfers per their FIU portal tracker. If we had to bring in one of them, I imagine it'd be Hamed "Larry" Olayinka - 6'9" power forward entering his senior year.

"Starting in all 32 games for FIU this season, Larry Olayinka had a strong defensive season, ranking 4th in C-USA in total blocks. Olayinka averaged 10.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game. The forward had 15 double-digit performances and six contests with 10+ rebounds, as well as five double-doubles. He will enter his senior year looking for his 4th school to finish his collegiate career."

Dibami has been mentioned as a transfer big to avoid.  Olayinka has not been discussed.

I hope not. FIU has no one worth targeting.

Have you strained something from moving the goalposts multiple times already? Now you're creating inane hypotheticals because you have no leg to stand on.

Was Shaka at Marquette at that time?  Is the Athletic Director the same?  The University leadership?

It's amazing you think that somehow that would have any correlation on decisions made by the program today.  In fact, it makes it much less likely a player with character issues would be recruited and join the program.

You're responses are devoid of common sense and logic.
