He wasn't old enough to remember them!

I dont see Hurley being correct on this one.

It also disregards the notion that Mullins would delay the start of his NBA clock, thus getting into free agency sooner and his ability to max out his career earnings.

Mullins returning to UConn is what is best for UConn; Mullins entering the NBA and starting his clock is what is best for Mullins.

Quote from: wadesworld on April 10, 2026, 11:49:10 AMFrom people who clearly know things, Fru's biggest interests are Marquette and Iowa (doesn't mean somebody can't join in on that).  Certa is apparently visiting Marquette, not sure why he'd do that if we're not in on him.  The report is that Marquette is one of 10 schools that Buljan "has been in contact with."  Evans not 100% sure on, but people who have shared good information seem to think we're in on him.

Fru: No
Certa: they like, but he is visiting clemson
Buljan: one of ten (who cares until there is movement)
Evans: No

that very much goes against the notion of prices being thrown around here. And if thats the "too expensive" cost... Then were way off.

The Equalizer

Interesting announcement, given that Reed's minutes become available and Riebe seemingly is next man up. Did Hurley line up a blockbuster transfer to leapfrog him?

He was unplayable in the tournament

too be fair, Marquette is desperate for a plug and play big.

He can just throw out names, there is nothing wrong with lying on the internet.

Playing smaller schools and forcing them to panic and overpay is absolutely part of the game here.

I'm going to go ahead and say the people reporting on Fru know more than you do.

A couple things...

It doesn't specify when he "received interest". It might have been years ago. On a related note, I learned years ago that some people have a really broad definition of the phrase "received interest". I dealt with many people when my daughter was being recruited who considered getting camp emails as "receiving interest".
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

Ahhh the good old, my daughter received interest from Marquette, Wisconsin, Depaul, Northwestern, annnnnnd St louis. Okay bud, why did your daughter go play at Uw Superior then?

Fun times those were.

Yep.  And not to mention that there are probably 40 guys that Kentucky has had contact with.  That doesn't mean there was any real interest, just plans and plans within plans.

I wouldn't be unhappy with this. Yes he struggled in the tournament but was a freshman going against elete comp..

Feeling pretty accurate with my numbers.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

No idea what the actual market is in terms of real dollars, but let's talk about some hypotheticals.

If onepost is correct, and Marquette is paying Nigel James $3 million dollars, we can build a rough estimate based on catch-all analytics.

I will use BPR in my example.  Nigel James had a BPR last season of +4.99.  If he truly is valued at $3 million, then Fru, with a BPR of +5.68, would be worth about $3.4 million.

If MU was willing to pay a 10% premium based on position scarcity and roster need for a starting C, Fru could be worth about $3.75 million.

These numbers fall within the reported $3-4 million range for starting a C.  Again, no idea if that's the true market rate, but these hypothetical numbers do line up.

wadesworld

Marquette could afford him at that price, but it would limit what else they could bring in.

The number thrown around from onepost to Nigel was 6m. 3m was the "loyalty" price that's speculated as well.

Others have posted articles with the expected cost of bigs at 5-6m. We were told Fru was asking for a high amount of money.

If that newest post of Fru asking for 3m is correct, then the rest are way off.

Or that post is way off. A complete guessing game at this point.

most of these numbers are fake. Kam was our first 7 figure player through the NIL. But on3 reported his NIL at 1.7.
