We have stood our ground on Ben. Excited to watch him continue to show his skills. He is far more than a tall three point shooter.

Quote from: OffTheGlass on December 07, 2024, 03:01:25 PMGold was so tough today...this is by far the most physically toughest showing that I've seen.

I ready Buckyville wiht a lot of complaints about Tonje's 3rd foul...they make a lot of good basketball comments normally on their site, but he totally hooked us on his 3rd. Don't give up 51 pts in the 2nd half....refs didn't blow that one!!!
I'd be more upset about my coach having the best player sit so long with only 3 fouls than about one call

WarriorFan

Replay the game and just watch Ben.  His positioning, his defense, his hedge and recovery, his box outs, his hustle.  I'm going to say it.  All of that is already better than Oso.  And his shooting was always better than Oso.

I'm not saying he's the only complete player on the team... Kam, Stevie and Chase also have the full package... but Ben is really doing EVERYTHING to help the team win.

Maybe it was his toughest showing, but he's been showing this for awhile and y'all just refused to catch on.

This was Bennys most confident game in a Marquette uniform.

First time that imo he looked like he belonged at a high major level.
So, that means the shot going in mattas, and the shot was pure, didn't touch rim.

That said, the answer is Kameron Jones.
What an all American

He has been playing defense like that for about a year now.  Oso was better because he could do all that AND defend guards in space.  Ben is doing very well.  I am sure he will have bad games.  They all do.

It's Kam by a mile, but Ben had his best game of the year/maybe ever.  Special shout out to Chase for leading team in minutes with a bum ankle as well as Tre, who had his most impactful game of the year. First time he looked fully composed and sure of what he was doing.

Ben has never looked like he belonged at a high major until today

Quite the bold and wildly incorrect take
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

pbiflyer

So I cannot believe all the folks voting for Kam. Only 2 rebounds???? And all those shots instead of passing the ball? Mrs hauser is writing a letter as we speak.
I was able to have two non-Marquette people watch with me today. That was fun and I think we got a couple more fans.
Oh and I'm fine with anyone they pick including Kam

MU82

Quote from: PGsHeroes32 on December 07, 2024, 02:55:32 PMBen was fantastic especially in the 2nd half.

But lets stop it

Kam had 32 on efficient shooting. Scored both halfs. Had 6 assists(when non Kam players shot 5/19 from 3) ZERO turnovers. 4 steals.

Give Ben his flowers. But Kam was very obnoxiously clear, the stud of the game.

This, obviously.

But strongly disagree with this. C'mon, man, Gold has had plenty of good games. Surprised by this take from you, PGs!

Sorry for the bizarre take.

That said, I leaned over to a few of my buddies today and said "all this Marquette offense needs is a Benny that makes open straight away threes.

It's unfortunate it's taken this long, he's gotten a long rope, but Shaka knows ball.
He knows this changes the offense, and Ben was present in all other aspects today too.

He's been replacement level so far, but today Benny was big time high level starter level.

It's just my opinion, sorry if it doesn't track

He's a career 34% three point shooter, man. 35.3% the last two years.

Of course.

He's still easily the weakest of the starters, according to most.

I'm acknowledging that he finally played an elite game defensively and hit a few open 3s, he was 3/5, but people take offense to that.

I'm simply saying most casual fans don't see what Shaka sees, but I'm giving the coach credit.

Benny played well today, on both ends, and he looked the most confident I've seen him

Ok, but how many of those have been guarded, or difficult, 3P attempts?
