Quote from: MuggsyB on June 25, 2025, 08:21:46 AMSo tbe 2nd round is tomorrow, not tonight?  WTF?  This makes no sense.  Is this because of Bronny?

They did the same last year, but my memory is that the second round was actually on the afternoon of the second day? It's tomorrow evening this time.

It's just so ESPN has a second night of programming around the draft.

The 2nd rd is 8 Eastern. Weird.    They should just do it the same night.

Yup. I'm guessing the NFL setup has been profitable, so doing the same with the NBA. Although, I feel the NBA second round isn't as exciting for the general fan like the NFL later rounds.

The only reason I watch the second round is if MU guys will get picked.

Exactly.

You guys gotta remember that the NBA second round is very likely to outdraw whatever else ESPN would normally put in that timeslot.

I don't like it and will add it to my 5-point plan

NBA Playoffs had a 5% growth in ratings this year.

This despite the fact that ESPN's production is lackluster, its studio show is embarrassingly bad, and countless pundits and former players keep saying how bad the game is these days. This should really cause some reflection about how the game is presented and discussed, but it likely won't because NBC seems to really want to bring back some 90s nostalgia with its production next year.

I can't decide if the Wizards are gonna be interesting or not next year.  Obviously its a move to free up $45MM towards the rebuild next year after Olynyk and McCollum both become FAs.  And addition by subtraction moving Poole.

But for the year, you have Smart and McCollum rotating as combo guards with Bub Carrington continuing to grow into that combo guard role behind them.  A potentially healthy Middleton at the 3.  Then Olynyk providing consistency inside and helping mentor Sarr.  Plus Coulibaly still has a ton of upside at the 4.  Plus whoever they get at #6 and #18.  I'm pretty sure their pick situation doesnt mean they need to tank, could be an entertaining potential 7-8 seed this year before being a major player in FA next off season.

Okay, SAS.

ESPN should have done a segment on conch chowder after another Bahamian was drafted.

V.J. is easy to root for.

VJ has huge upside to me.  Could be a superstar.  Dylan will be good player who has flashes of bigger potential.  Kon will end up being a solid 6th man/rotation player with a long career but won't ever be an All Star

Or they could have done a segment on white bread after Flagg was drafted

Why would anyone do a segment on white bread?  Every loaf is an abomination.

I like him as well.  Seems like a solid, solid, dude with a strong work ethic.  He's already a strong defender.

MuggsyB

Is Bailey a bust?  A la Josh Jackson?  It seems foolish not to work out for teams.
