Doesn't sound that impressed.

David Axelrod, former senior adviser to then-President Obama, said Sunday that Sen. JD Vance’s (R-Ohio) response to the attempted assassination of former President Trump should be disqualifying for the position of vice president.

“If @JDVance1 is on the short list for VP, this Tweet, sent an hour after the assassination attempt in PA, ought to disqualify him in the eyes of the Trump campaign,” Axelrod wrote on the social platform X, reposting Vance’s statement.

Huh.

It's interesting that Vance himself used "hate speech that can inspire violence," but Lennys seems to have ignored this.

I wonder why his outrage from Saturday night isn't applied to everyone who has used such speech? Very odd.

There are lots of things Vance has said that many think should disqualify him “in the eyes of the Trump campaign”. They’re being repeated ad infinitum ad nauseum on all the news programs. Pundits are evidently much more thin skinned on Trump’s behalf than he or his people are - which quite frankly is astonishing to me.

Regardless, Axelrod said yesterday that Vance had been on his podcast and he warned his fellow democrats that Vance was very thoughtful and intelligent - a formidable guy. Let’s talk again after he and Vice President Harris face off against one another.

What has Axelrod said about Kamala's prowess?  Does he still think Biden should resign or has he pivoted now?

3 or 4 states will determine this election:  Penn, Mich, Wisconsin, and maybe Virginia. Everything else is pretty much moot/smoke and mirrors if the polls are remotely accurate.  I don't see any scenario where it's not close unless MU Scoopers living in Wisconsin move the needle.  :)

I think we both know that Vance's former statements are being brought up to illustrate that he's a hypocrite willing to sell out whatever principles he may have had in a craven quest for power.

Wouldn't take da Buffoon's call. Tell's ya a lot. Gibberish is just noise, hey?

If the situation were reversed - if a spectator had been shot to death at a Biden rally, and your hero  had called the widow but Biden hadn't - that bit of "gibberish" would have been the biggest outrage in R-land since Obama wore a beige suit.

And if the widow had refused to take your hero's call, MAGA-land would have been ripping her on social media.

Axelrod liking Vance is supposed to be a positive for Vance?

Acknowledgement that your adversary is formidable ins’t “liking” him. It’s being wary and prudent.

I'm not sure it's hatred but instead concern/fear of a despot.

You must be talking about the very first speaker at the convention last night - Ron Johnson (the demented senator from your state, not the guy whom your demented dictator-wannabe thinks is his doctor) - who wasted no time screaming hate-filled language about the opposition party.

And that's really OK, because it's to be expected at an event like that. Just don't pretend that your hate-filled party isn't hate-filled, oona?

Maybe more hate should be reserved for white, 20-year-old registered Republicans with AR-15s.

Yeah, words like 4ever's don't help. Policy disagreements are fine and actually are part of the process. Casting politics as the difference between good and evil is really unfortunate.

Well, one of the candidates is a convicted rapist, which makes him objectively evil.

Yeah, it's wild that those willing to overlook that, or who are OK with a president playing footsie with actually evil people like Putin and Kim Jong, but are willing to call someone "evil" over ... immigration policy? Minimum wage hikes? Health care?

Radicalization is a helluva drug.

Evil?
You know, leading a roaring economy that is far outpacing the rest of the western world, doing the best job in the developed world of taming inflation, growing the pie for people other than the fabulously wealthy for the first time in decades, leading the coalition against a murderous dictator hellbent on conquest, and addressing the freight train of doom that is climate change.

Totally evil stuff.

Nope.

Convicted felon, convicted rapist, convicted business fraud. Also, bragged about stealing the nation's most closely guarded secrets and leaving them laying around unsecured but has a pet judge that delayed, delayed, delayed the most open and shut case.

This is the guy one party has decided to worship.

From a semantics standpoint, you are correct. But a jury did rule he, in fact, is a rapist.

Is that how he tortured Pence before trying to get his vice president hanged?
Maybe I will be banished to one of his resorts and forced to eat steaks and drink red wine in his restaurant and lounge at the pool with a Margaritta in one hand and a rum and coke in the other.

America's Hitler was found liable for sexual assault, and then also for defamation when he lied about it and ripped the victim.

Don't need to use hyperbole to show, in that case and dozens of others, that he's truly a horrible human being.
