It's so strange watching ordinary folks fall for grifters.

No, there was zero irony in the two situations Pakuni cites. They’re nowhere near the same, not even comparable. Actually opposite on many levels.

Other than involving a disturbed and bullied young white male gun enthusiast, who inexplicably receives access to a military-style rifle, which he then brings to a supposedly secure and protected public place with intent to perform carnage ... the situations are nowhere near the same.

Yea, exactly.  I'm certainly no big fan of Vance and have had my friends in Ohio, on both sides of the centrist realm, gripe about him since he came onto the scene.  But its silly to act like being a chameleon or turn an abrupt about face on a fellow politician or policy is anything unique in Washington.  The vast majority of politicians do it in some way shape or form, some smoother and more tactfully than others.  That's modern politics...relentlessly and shamelessly bash, trash, and borderline slander your opponents or obstacles when appropriate and then snuggle up to them when politically useful.

Vance is kind of a dope, but he's seemingly an intelligent guy.  He may very well feel the exact same way about Trump that he did a few years ago, but he views the Vice Presidency and a Trump alliance as the best way to push forward his political career and presumably White House aspirations.  That stuff has been happening for more than a hundred years (pretty sure Lincoln couldn't stand Johnson).  These men and women sold their souls when they got to Washington, if not before.

Yeah, agreed, but it's varying degrees. Some will line their pockets, and some will seize power for the rest of their lives. It's very easy to tell the two types apart.

Oh, America's Hitler and his sidekick haven't won yet.
I don't get it.  Is he going to torture you with deep body massages and rounds of golf at his resorts?

Perfect choice...may not have started off loving Trump, but saw the vision, vigor, and victory in the man who will raise this country from a third world nation to to the leader of the free world once again. There's hope, too, for y'all. Perfect choice, aina?

I couldn't agree more, 4ever. Vance is a good man, and an excellent choice.

Is that how he tortured Pence before trying to get his vice president hanged?

Great personal story, great professional story...extremely intelligent and a real people person. Furthermore, terrific presidential material. Can't wait for the Vance/Buffoon 2 debate. This pick is a absolute home run and a clear cut knockout punch, aina?
I agree with this analysis.

I'd argue Lincoln is a poor choice here, if you haven't read "Team of Rivals" I'd recommend it.

Biden tried to call the wife of the firefighter who was shot to death Saturday. His predecessor did not.

After 2,000 hyperbolic rants to no avail, this bit of news is sure to convince everyone to vote for Joe.

While it will do nothing to alter who people will vote for, it does tell you a lot about the character of the people involved.

I watched David Axelrod talk about Vance on CNN today. Vance was on his podcast in 2017 and Axelrod was very impressed.

Axelrod liking Vance is supposed to be a positive for Vance?

Vance is honest about being a never Trumper in 2016. After watching his administration and its policies he admitted that he had been wrong.

I watched David Axelrod talk about Vance on CNN today. Vance was on his podcast in 2017 and Axelrod was very impressed.

Doesn't sound that impressed.

David Axelrod, former senior adviser to then-President Obama, said Sunday that Sen. JD Vance’s (R-Ohio) response to the attempted assassination of former President Trump should be disqualifying for the position of vice president.

“If @JDVance1 is on the short list for VP, this Tweet, sent an hour after the assassination attempt in PA, ought to disqualify him in the eyes of the Trump campaign,” Axelrod wrote on the social platform X, reposting Vance’s statement.
