I was at a public place, with diverse political points of view. Overall there was concern, but the largest general comment from individuals from both sides of the aisle was that given the pulse of the nation and how much vitriol and division there is, that they were surprised something like this hadn't already happened. So based on the bolded above, that would apply to a lot of people, and mostly those that occupy the more middle regions of the political spectrum.

Also, some absurd comments/thoughts/beliefs by individuals on the far edges of the political spectrum, but I'll leave those unsaid to avoid escalating political discussions. But lets just say there were a lot of unhinged comments from both far edges.
