Tower

The tone was set prior to Thanksgiving. Last three months has been fine tuning the engine for the title run. I saw enough by Thanksgiving to know the ultimate goal could be achieved.

Yes.  There isn't much left that MU hasn't seen.

How about a 1985 scenario with three Big East teams in the FF, with us and UConn in the finals.  Marquette pulls a Villanova and shoots lights out win the naty?  Who’s in?

Put me down for that.

Happy to see the top 4 doing well.  The others sucked.

Big East still undefeated.

The advantage of not having a bunch of bubble teams getting 9-11 seeds and dragging the record down.

Chase in the post game presser:   Coach preaches F-it shooting.

So now we know what the philosophy was in January when MU was in a shooting slump.

Imagine if OSO was playing like Oso
He has not for the last several games. He is not enhancing his draftability. He needs to be much more dominant at crunch time which is now.

Yeah, he’ll be back for sure.  I see he’s been removed from all mock drafts

I am just so impressed by the game that Chase and Jop had. Jop has had a string of truly impressive defensive games and playing within himself offensively.

Great point on Jop playing within himself today. These guys know their roles and trust each other. Jop has improved a great deal in 2024.

Exactly.   MU was in a shooting slump in January.    But they were still the right shots.

Exactly what I said in the other thread, this is a result of Shaka's coaching.

Except for that terrible fast break layup with about 6 mins to go.  He had Stevie trailing and forced a bad shot against Williams.  Could’ve pushed the lead to 7, instead they came down and cut it to 3.

Give him a break on that one. He made a great steal to make it happen.  His defense has been great lately.

Spent the 9 hours after the game driving, so catching up on Scoop this morning (please don't tell Keefe).

One of the better games of the Tournament so far.  Colorado played tough.  Marquette didn't fold.

Not sure why people are up in arms about Oso.  It certainly wasn't his best game, but he was 5/6 from the floor and had 4 assists, 3 steals, and just 1 turnover.  People are acting like he was 2/8 with 2 assists and 7 turnovers here.  Oso is not a guy who's going to look for his shot attempts.  He's going to find his spots, but mostly be a distributor and a rim roller.  Not sure why people are expecting Edey like field goal attempts and points/rebounds.  He's never been that guy, ever.

Had a buddy ask me in early Feb for a Final 4. Said MU, Arizona, UConn, Creighton. Still alive.

If we could get Oso and Jop to play to their upper limit at the same time (with no backtracking by the rest of the team) the next two weeks could be fun.  It just never seems like they are both "on" at time.
