All that said, this whole "warriors did this, golden eagles did that" attitude is ridiculous. I used to call people like that on Phonathon where they'd say "I didn't go to the same school you are, we were warriors" completely idiotic to tie up your mentality with a mascot.

When MU hoists the NC flag they will be doing it as Warriors. There was something special surrounding that era of Marquette University and it will not be forgotten by me. I remember going to Marquette as a little boy and feeling that MU was special and different. Have to admit, Shaka has rekindled my love Marquette as a whole not just the basketball program. Obviously, I did not know during your time at MU, but I felt connected to you the first time we PM'd. To me and my family MU will always be the Warriors regardless of the nickname.
