Bring back the actual eagle from the early 2000s. I don't mind the MU but they should also use the eagle

For real.  Even the current logo mascot thing has the wrong color gradient for what a Golden Eagle looks like.  Their faces are dark and are more golden towards the back of their head.  That small of a fix would remove the chicken feelings.

edit: Is this a better color scheme?  I'm not sure.

The Lens

This is not a MU complaint bc all football and basketball entities do it but I hate how the court is orientated for TV.  If you sit 5th row center on the other side you're seeing the court in reverse.

I prefer the name of the team in a ring around the jump circle.  But I would guess I am in the minority.

You can always dress up like that for games.

I like it waaaaaay better with the back half of the stripes covered.

I agree.

Four pages on the new court. We need the season to get started already.

It's better.  I think it'd be even better if the entire sideline was all navy, instead of big blocks of the secondary colors in the corner.

A bigger question is which Courtside Cougar will spill the first beer when Stevie Mitchell dives for a loose ball?

How can people be offended by that?
my roommate/housemate was the First Warrior at the time. Full Menomonie  Indian. Many on here might know Rick. Great guy. He was never offended and had/has really interesting insight on topic. He was ignored by the BOD at the time. Golden Eagles it is.

Not just him, but a huge majority of alumni at the time.

I was one of them. Suggested a Viking or Celt replacement if Willie was offensive. Warriors is a strong nickname.

Too young to vote at the time, but I've liked the idea pitched here about switching to St. Joan of Arc as the mascot. Probably too processive for the mid-90s but with the St. Joan of Arc chapel on campus and Marquette being the first Catholic University to admit women, I think it would have been fitting to have the first female primary mascot in D1.

First Warrior was the most respectful iteration of the Warrior, however, the nickname/mascot clearly could not be separated by the more offensive iterations, which is obvious from the fact that they are still continually posted on this board.

Warriors with St. Joan of Arc as the mascot.

This was brought up in the 2005 fiasco, but dismissed immediately. The Jesuits thought it was disrespectful to have a Saint used as a mascot.
