I believe it was last season that Creighton hosted a Christmas afternoon nationally televised game against DePaul. If I remember, they had a nearly full house and the TV ratings were quite high.

So with the 2023-24 BE schedule coming out any day now, and with Marquette projected to be a top 5-10 team, what are the chances Fiserv hosts a 3:00 pm tipoff on December 25?

I suppose the season ticketholders have more at stake here than others. On the one hand it's a chance to showcase the team to the entire college basketball watching country. On the other hand, if you have young kids or you come from out state Wisconsin or Chicagoland, it pretty much shoots the whole day.

Personally, I would go. But if we're going to be featured on Christmas day I would prefer a road game.

No thanks. With three NFL games and a whole slate of NBA games (including the Bucks), I would rather Marquette not play on Christmas.

Bucks on the road so it's possible, but I doubt attendance would be very good.

I'd love an opportunity to do something wonderful on Xmas, so bring it on!

I'd love to see it. But last year Creighton and DePaul were the only two willing to do it. I would be surprised to see us go for it.

Fox was delighted with the ratings.  If the opportunity knocks, MU should absolutely open the door.

It makes sense in Creighton because there are no pro teams in Nebraska and the fans will come out no matter what. I can't think of another BE team that would pack an arena on Christmas day. I read that UConn/Creighton is the target Christmas game this year and it would make sense it's in Omaha.

I think some Catholics celebrate some sort of holiday on that day. I could be wrong.

You're not a donor, so your wishes do not count.

BrewCity83

Maybe FOX can get Creighton to host a game every Christmas Day afternoon.  They could be like the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving--it would start a new Christmas tradition in Omaha.

Why teal?
Even us small time donor's wishes do not count. Maybe adding 3 more 0's at the end might make some waves.

SlowJoe

Considering the conference is already targeting many games on December 22nd and 23rd, a game on Christmas might be difficult timing-wise.

I dunno man, 30 bucks doesn't go as far as it used it.

To be fair, not like Milwaukee is all that different from Omaha outside of a pro basketball team and baseball team.
