My guess is that he's gone by Tuesday.

Any potential immediate impact transfer on that roster that plays tbe 3/4?

Big NIL money was offered to the transfers they brought in.

I know a lot of Scoopers like him because of the whole anti-Catholic thing, but enough is enough. Put this cow out to pasture.

Apparently he's going to resign. Undoubtedly accepted a buy out.

LOL ... He won't resign.  No way

I'm not even sure WVU will fire him.

But, he's a disgrace.  Drunk out of his mind ... and to damn STOOPID to even have some WVU flunky drive him home
( or to the next bar ) !
And.....he resigns.

Causes one to wonder what his blood alcohol level was during the radio interview.

Hope he gets the help he needs.

Exactly. He's done as a basketball coach but not as a human being. Hope he's hit bottom and can make amends and reclaim his life.

Mu8891

Ok Tower, my prediction was wrong ...
I did not think he had enough integrity to resign.

Hopefully he goes into an actual re-hab program

He'll be dead in five years.

Man needs help.  Actual help.

Yeah, this is one of those situations that's so bad I just feel sorry for the person. Thank god he didn't injure or kill someone driving. Obviously in the throes of a deep and disabling addiction.

Go to the CBS link in the original post. From there hit the link to "city of Pittsburgh official website"----police blotter. He was stopped in traffic with a shredded tire. Once the cops got he and his  auto off to the side, they administered field sobriety tests, all of which he apparently failed.

Not looking too promising for the medical emergency dodge.

The PR damage is worse than the police report for him. The cops had body cams on which are not only high def video and audio, but subject to FOIA requests. It'll be out there soon if it isn't already.

Yes, exactly right.  This is extremely serious and I guarantee this isn't the first time Huggins has driven drunk.  It's especially troubling because we're talking about a guy who could have a personal chauffeur and isn't a child.  Why the F would he be driving intoxicated?  Inexcusable.  I have always liked Bob Huggins but I cannot have sympathy for someone who could have easily mowed down innocent people.  He needs to get some help and do some serious soul searching.

Since he was already arrested once passed out at a stop sign with puke all over the floor of his car that's a pretty safe guarantee.

I wasn't even thinking about that but you're correct.  Totally inexcusable and clearly he has not learned anything.

The Sultan

Seems like a lot of self-destructive behavior. Wonder how much depression could be a part of his life as well.

BTW, the WVU board are almost universal in saying "yeah he has to go" as well.

Dickthedribbler

In addition to all of his legal and other problems brought on by the heavy boozing, I recall that about 20-25 years ago he had a serious heart attack. Walking around with a chest full of stents since.

At age 69, seriously overweight ( pushing 300 I would guess). High stress work. Getting loaded on a regular basis.

Dude is a poster boy for destructive behavior. The incident in Pittsburgh and WVU forcing him into retirement no doubt may save his life ( or I should say extend it).

Yes, good point dtd.  And I would say he's significantly over 3 bills with no evidence he's tried to manage his weight since he had a major heart attack.

If the totality of your life's work had you ending up in West Virginia, you'd be depressed too.
Seriously, hope he gets the help he desperately needs.

UW hired drivers and minders for Bielma, Barry, and Bo.

Bo and Barry were man whores and Bielma would give his people the slip like in a bad spy movie.
