Apparently Alabama had made the decision to go with a line-up that featured less of their regular players and a pitcher who usually comes out of the bull-pen. And the gambling activity occurred prior to the line-up being announced.

And the first place team visits for the weekend. Although Alabama is one of the best hitting teams in their league vs left handers. They’ll see 3 of those this weekend.

It’s easy to blame the wave of legalized sports betting but, as regulators point out, the system worked “within minutes” here. Less than a week after the game and just three days after the bets were flagged, the situation is likely resolved. Will that dissuade impostors? Maybe.
