Conference USA is 16-1 this postseason. They already won the CBI (Charlotte). They may have both NIT finalists. (N. Texas, UAB) And, they have an NCAA Tourney Final Four Team. (FAU)

17-1. It's a lot of fun.

I'd guess 99% of college basketball fans have seen, at most, 4 of those games.  The 3 I've seen have been pretty fun.

My cousin, Paul, is a graduate in the early 90s'.  He headed there from Connecticut because they had a great music school.
After graduation, he had a gig for a years playing guitar for Blood, Sweat & Tears.  Work sin the music industry in Dallas.

UNT is a half hour north of Dallas, 42,000 students.

Much more of a residential school than in years past, and significant improvements to its athletic department have it moving up to the AAC next year.  Think of it as comparable to South Florida, except on the plains.

If we wanted to compare it to South Florida, it would have to be located in Nacogdoches.

I read that apparently Gard is going to be "very active" in the Portal. Should we be concerned about this?  I thought that's "not how they do things" there?  Unless they're only going after Ivy League and MIT/Cal-Tech players?  Should we assume they will all have to take Linear Algebra or a String Theory class for admittance?

I heard that Hepburn and Essegian both planned on entering the portal. Davis is basically a guarantee to hit the portal.

They may have "found the money" to keep Hepburn and Essegian but only time will tell.

Not surprising when you only have 5 major conference caliber players on your roster. It's a miracle they won as many games as they did with how bad their bench was.

I don't have any confidence in Gard in being able to effectively navigate the modern recruiting landscape.

Hepburn, LOL.  He wouldn't get 10 minutes a game at Marquette.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

Why?  Are they moving to the Big East?

While reading into kids' body language (or social media posts) is probably useless, man, the few times I saw parts of Bagder games, Chucky did not look happy to be there. Could just be his demeaner, too, of course.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Milwaukee business journal reports that Summit credit union signed an NIL deal with the UW team.  I no longer subscribe so only get headlines.  Could be just football, or just bball.

I guess we will see if they indeed "found the money" for Hepburn and Essegian or not soon with Davis entering the portal already.

As a teenager, I worked in the New Orleans area of Opryland, and I befriended most of the musicians that played Dixieland jazz there.  Quite a number of them were  students or graduates of UNT (back then it was called North Texas State).  It was the first university to offer a degree in jazz studies, and it is still considered the best school in the world to study Jazz music.
Have some patience, FFS.
