Fair. Who though would they get to come in? The fans are delusional thinking they could poach top coaches like Tony Bennett. Heard recently a few that thought Shaka would jump at the UW job if offered.

These people are fully delusional. All they'll get is a Wojo / Crean type from outside of UW. Their fan base is not ready for that and would not have the patience .

I bet that if Gard gets the boot, they hire a promising assistant coach from out of state then fire him after 4 seasons of mediocre performance.

It's a great question.  They'll probably hire whoever the hot name is next year.  The Bennett and Shaka stuff is nonsense and should be treated as such.

If they don't have a hot name they'll probably hire someone like Doug Wojcik... Or throw a bunch of money at Pat Kelsey.

IF there is a high-level coach that would leave for Wisconsin, then that person is Tony Bennett.  Especially if Virginia has a down year or a late-season "collapse" like they did this year and he feels a little heat.  People in Charlottesville might eventually get tired of the Bennett style of play, but it would be popular in Madison.

I'd put this at about a 5% chance, but it is possible.

Agreed. I think it would be more likely than a few years ago. No inside info, but just seems like since the National Championship, they've hit a bit of a lull. I could see him wanting a bit of a change.
