I wish he would…
But I don’t believe for a min that
Essegian is leaving.  No way.

They are in a tough spot.

Their team stinks and Gard probably feels like he is fighting for his job.  I'd expect them to hammer the transfer portal as their last chance effort to not get fired.

Hepburn, LOL.  He wouldn't get 10 minutes a game at Marquette.

Since he's from Omaha, I think Chuck would like to see himself in Creighton blue and white. But I doubt he can play in the Big East, and I doubt McDermott would have any interest.

You doubt he can play in BE why?

His problem is way to injury prone.

I understand the Badgers are hated here and myself among them, but let’s not talk like an idiot.  He’s the only reason they beat us for starters.

While I do agree with you, he also lost them quite a few games with his eFG.

Out of more than 500 D-I players who attempted more than 200 2FGAs, his 2Fg% was the third worst

Garbage
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

It sure fun the read buckyville with ETR (who quit posting his 10 things as the badgers suck vibes grew during the year) now coming back on the board to defend Gard against all the Gard pitchforkers.

Also fun to see the badgers fans who previously thought their program was too good to go the transfer route now are have their beliefs all in on the badgers getting better in on Gard improving the team with transfers.  Realistic badger fans doubt Gard can really move the needle with transfers with the recent track record of poor recruiting.

Gard apologists are really putting in some overtime. I love how the paid shills like Evan Flood and Potrykus resort to mocking their subscribers opinions.

Wait until the day comes and they fire Gard and Flood and Potrykus change course.  Frankly, Potrykus deserves the misery he gets on Twitter for being so wrong on the Fickell front.

I've said since day 1, I'm all aboard the Gard at UW train.  Sign him to a lifetime contract.  Are the MU fans who paid the Hausers to not go to UW available to fund Gard's extension?

An NIL fund to pay players not to go to UW? Sounds good.

As long as Gard is there, the cost to pay players NOT to go to UW will be far lower than the cost would be to get them to actually go there.

Gard’s gonna have to hope to catch lightning in a bottle like Capel did at Pitt.

Do any of you think Gard gets canned this year ?

I don’t… or it would have happened by now

I thought it was possible once they got eliminated from the NCAAs. But I think he hangs on for one more year. If he misses the tourney next season, I think he's gone.

I hope they extend his contract.

Pat Richter hit a home run when he hired Dick Bennett which slowly began the reversal of 45+ years of embarrassing failure. Bo Ryan expanded that success.

If the new AD goes out to hire a new coach, who's to say they don't stumble on to the next up and coming Shaka Smart or next Tony Bennett or Tom Izzo.

I'm perfectly happy with Gardo.

Keep Gard - ceiling is getting lower each year.  Fun sending badger fans - first one to 50 wins every game.

I think his buy-out has a big step down after next season. That said, the guy just won the B1G last year.

I don’t think Badger fans care enough about basketball to fire Gard with a B10 title there so recently. I think he’ll keep getting them to the tourney and a modicum of success that isn’t a dumpster fire, but is ugly and bland.

It’ll be the optimum expression of Badger Basketball, and he’ll be there another ten years.

God bless the Wisconsin athletic department.

Fair. Who though would they get to come in? The fans are delusional thinking they could poach top coaches like Tony Bennett. Heard recently a few that thought Shaka would jump at the UW job if offered.

These people are fully delusional. All they’ll get is a Wojo / Crean type from outside of UW. Their fan base is not ready for that and would not have the patience .

I bet that if Gard gets the boot, they hire a promising assistant coach from out of state then fire him after 4 seasons of mediocre performance.
