We have something like eight field goals the entire half.?

That's correct. Pretty amazing.

BM1090

It's over, but not the most convincing finish.

For the love of god, did you really just give the double bird to the basketball gods?

Nah, just want to rile up the crowd....they got this

Just don't want a hack an Oso to start.

Don't stop playing ... no finish line!

Silent Verbal

Wow, they just said Shaka will be joining them ("the winning coach") on that graphic.  They're trying to freaking jinx this.

MuggsyB

I think we're good.

YES!!!!!!!!

MuggsyB

Obviously we were gassed but it was still a Hammer win.

CountryRoads

Marquette completely broke their will to compete.

MuggsyB

19 of our last 21 Scoopers.

Not too shabby!

nyg

That's it. First half just destroyed Xavier and their will.  Shaka will cleanup second half blues by next week.  Three games in row, bit worn from elite defense.

Congrats to all.

Now I don't have to wonder what would be better, a regular season title or a tournament title.

My 3 daughters, all MU alumni and former fanatics who went to virtually every game as students, are super excited. They are also buying up merchandise like they're giving it away.

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

10 pages.

Probably one of the shortest in the last few months.

That's how you know the game was in hand from the tip.

I have cried in public very few times in my life. The hardest was the one when my mother passed from pancreatic cancer.

One time was the cubs winning the WS

One of them was today in the middle of a bar full of strangers who could have cared less. But f*ck...this was something else

God bless, and may God rest her soul.
Cholangiocarcinoma for my dad.
Similar experiences in tears, except sub in 2005 WhiteSox and Greece Euro2004.

Glad we got to enjoy this season, and the memories will be eternal.

I could not happier that you shed those tears last night. We have PM'd quite a bit the past two seasons and your excitement for the program is real. I did not need much encouragement to believe in Shaka, but you definitely were one of the guys that got me more jacked up.

You are a good man and sorry about the loss your Mom. I miss mine everyday. Cheers to a big cry in 22 days!!

Does anybody have a link to the full post-game on Fox yesterday? Was at the Garden and would love to see the full televised coverage.

The defensive job both Stevie Mitchell and Omax Prosper did on Saturday reminded me of another MU game many years ago. I know of at least one participant on this board who will remember the game very well.

In the winter of 1970, ND came to Milwaukee with a very good team led by a great player named Austin Carr.  I don't remember the specifics, but Carr was a really good offensive player and the ND offense revolved around him. Al had this skinny white guy guarding Carr (what was that guy's name?), and he did a fantastic job. MU got off to a great start, the skinny white guy held Carr to just a handful of points in the first half, and MU went into the locker room with a good lead. ND got untracked a bit in the second half, but it was too little too late and MU got a really nice win. It was Austin Carr's lowest scoring game of the season. (Wish I could remember the name of that guy guarding him.)

It's fun to watch great defensive efforts like that one from 1970 - and like the defense played Saturday night.
