One - who is going? Any unique-this-year things to check out in NYC? I'm booked, but do not yet have tickets.

Two - I contacted the Big East office today. We have now got the tie breaking procedures for this year posted. https://www.bigeast.com/documents/2023/2/17/2023tiebreakers.pdf

AND THE NET IS BACK. CU and us are neck and neck. Tuesday looking big for seeding implications (eg we may need to beat them to be seeded 1)

If it comes down to the NET as a tie-breaker, it looks like we're going to get screwed. It seems the NCAA, as well as the media, is against us. We get no respect, I tell 'ya, no respect.

It baffles me how Creighton can be ahead of us. The NET rankings list eight categories: overall record, road record, neutral record, home record, and results vs. quads 1, 2, 3, and 4. MU has favorable stats compared to Creighton in...all eight categories!

Is this the result of running up the score on some cupcake? Are there factors that they value that they do not list on their website? Seems wrong.

Let's make it academic by winning on Tuesday.

There is more than just those factors that goes into the NET.

MU and CU are very tight, as evidenced by their NET ratings of 14 and 13. The teams are close in the metrics that are factored into the NET, with MU slightly better in some and CU slightly better in others. One thing that stands out for CU is their overall SOS (20) and OOC SOS (31), compared to 44 and 140 for MU.

I think Creighton is being undervalued by the bracketologists that have them as a 6 seed. I think if the season ended today the Selection Committee would have them as a solid 5 while also considering that they lost 3 games in December when Kalkbrenner was out.

I'm not too concerned about who gets the 1 seed in the BET if MU and Creighton end up tied at 16-4 (a very real possibility). If UConn ends up as the 5 seed (as I expect) the path to the BET final won't be any easier from the 1 seed than the 2.

Tomorrow's reveal of the Committee's current top 16 might provide some insights on what factors the Committee is focusing on this year.

Tickets.. can someone advise as to sections to avoid at MSG? Last year I think we were in 119. Seats were great, would do that again, but session 2 (afternoon Thursday) seats there are like $330 each. Halp

Probably because that's when UConn is playing.

Yep. Which sucks, cause I'll probably be at the bar for that game

We're not particularly picky, as long as we're there, we sit  in the 200 level.  This year I bought our tix during the DePaul game, banking on us hopefully winning the title outright. prices for the Thursday games are definitely higher than last year- I wonder if they will come down at all next week, closer to the date. They've gone up since Saturday even, but this might be when everybody is finalizing plans. When we've gone before, we've not bought until a couple days beforehand.

Prices for early Thursday session doubled between Monday and today. Not sure because MU locked up #1 or not. Friday gonna be bad too.

The Friday prices are still similar to what I saw a few days ago. A bartender last year told us that the semi-final game is usually the hottest ticket, that was definitely true last year, looked out of curiosity.
The Stubhub fees are insane.

Last time I was at MSG for the tournament where it was actually played (also there in 2020) was in 2019. You could really hustle some good deals on the street as I sat center court about 12 rows up from the floor for about $100 each for Thursday and Friday. I think they may have gone 100% digital now so that strategy may be out the window. Can anyone confirm?

Also, this won't work for the schools that bring a lot of fans but if something crazy happens and a bottom feeder makes the quarters or semis then try contacting their ticket office and say you are an alum and see if they have any available. This has also worked in the past for me.

On Ticketmaster, the Friday prices have crept up a bit -- at least on the lower end. Last week there were quite a few tickets available under $200 (including fees) in the 400 sections (some in the $160-170 range). There were even a few in that price range in the back rows of some of the 200 sections on the corners. Right now, there is only one pair left under $200. When I bought my tickets, I decided to get a little better ticket (still not good -- a tiny step above "just get me in the building" tickets). I spent about $25 above the cheapest tickets available. Now, there's nothing available at the price I paid.

My question is, with the tix now being digital, how can you buy them outside of MSG???  It's not like you have paper/hardcopy tix in hand anymore...  Looking for help, as this is our first time going to BET ! !  !   BTW, WE do have tix for THurs! ! !  Thnx for ANY help ! ! !  8-)

If neither UConn nor Nova is playing Friday night the prices and availability of tickets will be proportionate. Of the Big East schools those two (and Providence) seem to show up in the biggest and most consistent numbers.

Best case for those trying to grab seats on the secondary market is a semifinal with Marquette, Xavier and Creighton.
