The Dukiet years were so bad that a good 5 at the rec center could beat the MU starters (minus of course Tony Smith who would never play there).
Sorry, the parenthetical part is false.  Tony Smith did play at the Rec Center because the one time I didn't go with my two roommates to play basketball at the Rec Center, they were able to play on a team with Tony.  And I've been told the story no less than 3 times a year for over 30 years running.  My annoyance of hearing the story is probably only exceeded by their kids annoyance at hearing it.

Not so impressive to my parents. I started FFP as a 17y and graduated married with two kids.

Dang.

17th St. efficiency apartment Junior year

942 N. 15th St. Senior year. Really an unforgettable place. Early 1900's, had a milk delivery cabinet that opened to the hallway and inside the efficiency apartment. Original bathroom fixtures that sell at ridiculous prices today. There was a very small, built-in fridge in every apartment that ran off a huge compressor in the basement. We were warned- Thursday is defrost day. Don't bitch to management if your food spoils. Lighting the gas stove was umm, interesting. I tossed a wood match in and ran away from the oven door, waiting for the BOOM when the oven was lit. It took about 10-15 seconds.

I dunked on a high Sam Worthen at the Rec Center.

Give it a few more days and it'll become about the Hausers, Wojo, or politics.

The mods need to hire a nerd to track the amount of time between Hauser and Wojo posts.  Throw in Crean, too.

Great line. You are probably correct and this will trend poorly at some point.

I think that was the Bud House. Down the street on 15th and Kilbourn.
It was the Budhouse. January 1989. My junior year.

I lived two houses away. Student killed was Dan Rickert. Rugby player from Kentucky known simply as "KY." He was a great guy.

He had a habit of playing Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" on the jukebox every time he went into Wales on Wells. After he passed there was not a single time I went in there through the day I left Milwaukee in May 1990 without continuing that tradition.

Class of 1984.

Transfer in Sophomore year. Junior year in Marquette Square, senior year in a crappy house on Kilbourn that was torn down to build a Greek house.  Stayed on campus the next year while working to live in Strack with 3 seniors.

Never dunked on any players, but I did ref some highly competitive intramural games.  A lot of guys didn't take too kindly to having a female ref.
Have some patience, FFS.

BM1090

32. Didn't attend MU for my undergraduate years, but got my graduate degree from MU in 2020.

Been a fan of the basketball program since I was 10 or 11.

Females refs should only ref women's sports, else is very disrespectful to male athletes.

IM refs were more like bouncers when I worked games, especially in frat league games. Pay was pretty good, though, and provided more drinking money than donating my plasma.

34. Graduated in 2011 and then grad school in 2012. Got to experience Crean for a year and Buzz for four. Pretty spoiled with some good teams.

I started going to games the in 2002 and went to Minneapolis for the Sweet 16 and Elite 8. Our grade school got tickets for winter break games.

My dad has been a fan since the 60s and met the 77 team at the airport coming back from Atlanta.

Same block I lived on. Ganos house?

Anyone remember Ms. Star?  Rented one of her places too. She was a piece of work.

I lived in a star house in the 80s. A piece of work is being polite to say the least.

We are a proud family of three FFP's, my brother, my youngest son and myself. While I am disappointed the program was discontinued, I hope my family is in the FFP HOF for most family members.

Love it. I was FFP 2006, my older brother 2002, and my younger brother and cousin in 2010. Our youngest brother went to MU also but wasn't lucky enough to be in FFP. He was fancy and went to usual route into the business school
Bring back FFP!!!

This is also me. And another one of those who started at 17 and didn't turn legal until my final semester (I turned 50 last month). Being from the East Coast, I wept when the school bought out Giuliano's (and the rest of Wells) to build Campus Town.

I was on the original crew of Building Managers when the AMU opened.  On duty the night of a concert that was attended by hundreds of mostly non-MU students and a VCR got stolen from a meeting room on the 3rd floor that I was not able to get up to fast enough to lock after the group left.  Cigarette burns on the new carpeting, got to talk to MPD officers.  Fun night. Wanted to quit that night
