Yes, they're spying on us.

Huge sign of weakness that they have to do it in plain sight.

This absolutely has to be a parody account. Otherwise....

A couple things that seem to provide clarity on the differences for these last two objects.

1. They were flying at 40k feet and were a potential threat to commercial aviation.
2. Apparently the weather is very bad where the object was located, and pilots had a hard time getting eyes on the object to ascertain what it was. So it was harder to assess whether it could be a threat beyond commercial aviation.
3. It was able to be safely shot down, and any debris would not be a threat to those on the ground.

Seems like the government and military forces are operating intelligently, and capably to keep Americans (and Canadians) safe.

Air traffic congestion must be pretty heavy off the Northern coast of Alaska for an object to be considered a threat. Most planes in Alaska are prop planes that fly around 12 to 13k feet.

China has a purpose to the repeated events of the past week. I just hope the U.S. is ready and prepared, hey?

This could be serious stuff. Thank God we don't have a doddering imbecile running the. Free World. No, wait........

I've only seen this stated by conservatives and China. Interesting...

Actually the "nothing to see here, this can't give them anything they're not already getting from satellites" was your and other Scooper's position as balloon #1 sailed across America. When Joe shot it down, the story changed to "thank God, he did what was right and what he had to do". Hilarious as it was predictable.

Maybe very low risk, but I'm guessing that very low risk was enough for them to take it down.

It was flying south. A lot of air traffic over southern Alaska. That is the route of a lot of international flights. Shot it down before it could threaten any flights.

Never saw any change in peoples opinion. The entire time was the military knows what it is doing, it is not an intelligence threat, but is a risk to people on the ground if it is shot down.

When it was shot down safely over water, where salvage and intelligence benefits were maximized, people continued to say the military knows what it is doing.

Yeah, nobody's position changed lol. Well, except yours, of course. Nobody other than China and conservatives have ever said it was a weather balloon that went off track.

But what's hilarious is that YOU are claiming other people changed their positions haha. You got it totally wrong from the start, then went all "look how smart I was!" after the fact, and apparently forgot the internet keeps receipts. Sad.

Lenny: So maybe it's a test. What will the US do if China sends a recon balloon that violates our airspace? The answer apparently is nothing. What do you suppose China's response would be if the situation were reversed?

Also Lenny, after the US shoots the ballon down: See! Biden is on my side and had the ballon shot down!

Also Lenny now: All you libs flip flop!

I wonder if the unidentified flying object flying over the Qingdao, China port is a plant or something else. Another twist the story.
