Both Jones's are listed as "Questionable", not "Doubtful" or "Out", correct?  Or has than been an update?

I heard its "Questionable" that both can even get out of bed.

It hasn't been updated. That's why all of the discussion here starts with "if" both Joneses can't play.

In the thanks Mr Obvious category, it shouldn't be underestimated how big of an effect losing the teams leading scorer will have on Marquette.

We don't know yet if he will play tomorrow, but if he doesn't...
The number 1 offense won't be the number 1 offense in the country.

Marquette would be missing a 16ppg scorer, who shoots 49% from the field and 37% from 3.
In his last 9 games before DePaul Kam had 24,22,21,17,16,15,14,14,12.
That's good, very good, but more importantly it's a pretty consistent output of points.

We haven't seen a big like Oso at Marquette for a long time, if ever, and we haven't seen a pg like Tyler for a long long time, so those guys are easy to admire.
We've seen a lot of bucket getters/shooters at Marquette in the last 20 years. In that sense, it's easy for Kam to not get his due and to become undervalued.

He's also rebounding, assisting, and getting multiple steals in several games. The metrics might not show it, but he's battling on the defensive end.
He's playing 30+ minutes in nearly every game as a Sophomore.

Undoubtedly though, the other parts of his game might be mitigated by next man up. His offensive and shooting ability however, will be where Marquette will truly feel the sting. This team has a lot of strengths, but its #1 efficiency offense is far and away its biggest strength (much to all of our surprise!).
Missing Kam would make that offensive efficiency substantially worse, and it will be in that moment where we truly feel his value.

I realize that and the number of posts, etc. believing they are not playing tended me to believe I missed something.  That is why I asked if there was an update on the player's status from the "Questionable" announcement.  Big difference from "Doubtfull".

There is absolutely no good reason for Shaka to let Neptune know whether or not the Jones are playing. Keep him guessing so that he has to prepare his team for multiple scenarios, even if the additional preparation/practice time is not great. And do we need to know (as if that info would not get to Nova in a half second)? No.

I'll remind folks of the date tomorrow. The February Fade commences.

God hates MU, we are doing so well and don't deserve it. He forced the Kam injury to make sure we have a February Fade (even timed it so well you can't even argue against it).

And I don't think in the history of time a single team missing a starter has beaten Marquette - so we have that going for us.

Why don't we just say the team has Covid and postpone the game.

I heard he had to pass it along. The team only owns 1 brace. Cost cutting measure.

I just hope he isn't returning cause Scoop thinks all is doomed if he doesn't play Wednesday.  Or because Jonah Lucas might steal his minutes.

Lucas needs to get some minutes. Probably should be starting ahead of Stevie.
