Got beat to the punch on Butch. Starting to forget he played for the Evil Empire (as opposed to someone like Mike Kelly, who I was not impressed by).

And Sims was very good in the end of the PC - SJU I watched. Just a bad night Tuesday. It happens.

The announcer at the Creighton game who said that out of all the teams in the conference, the Bluejays play in the stadium that is closest to an NBA arena.

Ours IS an NBA arena. So it's not close to one.

Semantics.

If he had added "without actually being one" there would be nothing wrong with what he said.
Have some patience, FFS.

I'm not sure that will be an option. With the Big 12 & Big 10 already having a lot of content there, they may not need another CBB option, and being the third choice league isn't optimal.
The Big Ten amount of games on FOX/FS1 only increases by a few. (45) Future of the Pac-12 on FS1 might be done. That's open up 22 spots. Number hasn't come out on the amount of Big 12 games FOX Sports gets. My guess around 35.

Still think the Big East will be a major factor in filling tv windows on FOX/FS1. Maybe CBS picks up more games in the future. Time will tell.

...."that's a 50-50 call that could go either way".....

Matt Schumacker with :16 left in the first half today, X vs. Nova, and Villanova's ball-

Iif they want it, Villanova has the last possession"  :o

Same game, Sarh Kustok with a cliche' that we have all heard hundreds of times- "...turning defense into offense..."

At least they did not say when a trailing team was down by 2  "they can tie with a 2 or..(alters voice to a tone both deeper and very serious)... take the lead with a three"

Wild horses couldn't drag me into either political party, but for very different reasons.

Butch announces like he doesn't detest MU with every fiber of his being and actually enjoys up-tempo basketball.

Well then he's either had a change of heart as he grows up, or, he's doing a hell of a job of "covering" when he's getting paid to be the commentor on a televised Marquette game.

He used to ( and may still) be on a radio sports talk show in Green Bay/Fox Valley and whenever the topic was college basketball, he ALWAYS went out of his way to dump on and ridicule MU and the program and especially its place in State college basketball history. He would come off as just an uninformed book.

Maybe he has outgrown it.

And here he is with a uniformed boob

But in all seriousness, I think he does a great job.

My only complaint about Butch is he sounds a lot like Dan Dakich. I panic whenever I hear him thinking we got stuck with Dakich.

I've been impressed with how well he's done.

Not sure what he says on small-town radio, but anybody who actually has watched the Marquette games when he's the analyst knows that Butch does not dump on and ridicule Marquette on Fox Sports. If anything, he has been complimentary of Shaka and the program.

I hate when someone clearly gets fouled and the announcers acknowledge the missed call by saying something like "you gotta be tough in the Big East" only to have a nickle-and-dimer called 20 seconds later.

Tonight was just another example of why playing on CBS Sports sucks.  PBP was fine but Chris Walker was atrocious.  When he wasn't making generic boilerplate observations or comments, he was lauding UCONN at every turn.  And I don't think he was anti-MU or a UCONN homer, I think he's just a lazy color guy that knows UCONN as a former old BE player and sees the #6 next to their name so he has to gas them up.  The first half was dumb as he complimented anything they did but then towards the end as Marquette was up 2-3 possessions late, he kept talking about UCONN's path back and "stranger things have happened!!".  Didn't start acknowledging Marquette's performance and their win until the air balled last 3.  Made me almost miss Dickey

Fortunately, I don't think we'll be ranked 9th in the preseason next year, with banishment to CBSSN being the punishment.

Whoever was tonight was FANTASTIC. Waiting for someone to tell me Butch was involved.

Walker was pretty bad. But I neither missed Dickey nor almost missed Dickey.

Could've been even worse -- Gillen was not in the house.

I thought tonight's play-by-play guy was terrible.  Seems like he doesn't know basketball very well.

Someone needs to tell Tom McCarthy, announcer for the the UConn game that an "all ball" block is in fact a foul if you proceed to then knock the guy practically into the stands.  Same guy also accuses Omax of kicking his feet way out on a 3 point foul and replays shows no such thing.
