I am one of the few people who used to golf, but dropped it during peak Tiger. I had too much going on as a parent of young kids that I just didn't want to devote the time. Never really had the desire to return.

Tiger definitely brought people to the game. But the people he brought to the game weren't exactly reflective of society at large and didn't really meet the expectations that some had at the beginning of his career. But maybe that's unfair. And Rico is right - it's hard to grow a game like golf.

I think the problem with Tiger was so many people that he brought to the game were Tiger fans, not golf/PGA fans.

That was great in his peak and prime, but didn't do much enduring.  Same reason they lose their mind over any little thing he does these days or him in majors, cause they wouldn't be paying attention otherwise.

Not really.

Try getting a membership at any decent country club these days. There are long waiting lists. Wasn't that way before Covid.

In Florida it is tough. Maybe in Chicago cause every one is leaving.

The crime. It’s unsustainable, uncontainable.

Can’t believe the amount of people leaving golf clubs in Illinois that are significantly better then almost everything in Florida.

It’s a true shame, vote Republican to save Chicago.

Does that solve his gallery rope problem?

First round in for the year. Shipyard Golf in Hilton Head. 39-46.  Wish I could say the beer did me in on the back, but not a beer cart to be seen. Good weather, but pretty brown fairways.  Beats the office though!

Haven't been to Hilton Head, but jealous.  I'm biding my time with sim golf, which is okay but I can't wait to play outside.  Fingers crossed the MU somehow ends up in Orlando....would be good for my fandom and my golf game.

LIV Golf starting season today on Mexico. Friday rounds on CW App. Saturday and Sunday on CW Broadcast

Same production values and announcers as last year . They show a lot of shots .

Seems like the Players are all enjoying themselves .

A lot of money in hand and not much competition.   Plus, they have been told to act like they are enjoying themselves.

Watching LIV CW Broadcast. They have a few advertisers , mostly local but a few National . Promoting Prime time shows on their network.

I am watching professional golf.  Admittedly partial to stocky Irish guys.  Go Shane!

So, I flip to LIV for 10 seconds.   Feherty is clearly telling a hell of a story.   No sound.   A sign from the universe.

Maybe I couldn't hear the announcers over the crowd noise.

LIV Golfers aren’t independent contractors

It looks like this is more restrictive than the PGA Tour. I chuckle at the mandatory events because of how many made that a big point when they left.
