I actually have a very positive feeling about the game tonight. I felt unsure to negative going into Purdue and MS, but think they are going to have a very good showing tonight.

My feeling is if we don’t win this season is starting to go off the rails.  MU by 15!

Win or lose, there will be spectacularly bad hot takes, wailing, gnashing of teeth, rending of garments.

I'll say a 3 point loss similar to Monday.

This is a must win already at this point in the season and the players know it.  They haven't handled pressure so far this season. I'd guess we see similar results.

I'd like to see Sean Jones get a slight uptick in minutes from his 13 in Monday at the expense of Kam if he's shooting us out of a game again tonight.

It absolutely is. It'd be a Quad 3 loss.  The record would be 3-3.

Remaining Non-Con against Chicago State, Baylor, Wisconsin, NCCU, Notre Dame.

With Baylor and Wisconsin likely being losses, you'd need to beat ND on the road just to finish above .500 in the NonCon.  Even with a win at ND they'd be 6-5.  Meaning they'd likely have to go 12-8 in the Big East to be on the bubble at 18-13.

No game is a must win until the NCAA tournament. However, a loss would be a fairly sizable check mark in the negative column for this year and likely would have some negative predictive value regarding their chances to make the NCAA tournament.

But you are Greg Brady correct.  It is not must win.

Only if you think Marquette is going to be better in conference this year than they were last year.  They won 11 in the BE last year including a 7 game winning streak.

Newsflash for you though m, they are not getting more than 11 this year. Today is a must win.

Why is wisco a likely lose? Beyond being on the road, I really don't think it is. You might be able to say that in a few days if they rack up a couple of wins. But beating Stanford on a baseball diamond isn't enough to say they are a top 45-50 team.

UW is playing us in Milwaukee, but it's Wisconsin. They always seem to find a way even in down years. They limit mistakes and we've already struggled in a slow game.

I feel really good about us beating UW-Madison.  They aren't very athletic, nor are they very physical - which in past years you could make a case for them being physical.  Losing Johnny Davis and Brad Davison were big losses.  Look at their roster - pretty meh.  Our athleticism should cause them problems.

I just made the road assumption because you said likely loss, and forgot they were home.

As of today, Marquette is favorites on KP, Barttovik, Haslametrics, so likely loss might be a little strong.

They are currently more likely to lose to ND than they are to lose to Wisconsin.

If playing this year’s UW team - at home - is a “ likely “ loss then MU is in real trouble….

And it will be a very VERY long year if they do in fact lose.  It’s a very winnable game.  At home.

A win is very important tonight - MU hasn't won a meaningful game since Feb 2. This game isn't meaningful either, but a 3-3 start to the season, where the three wins were the cupiestcakes in the league, wouldn't be encouraging.

Which isn't great because Wisconsin is better.

I think we should have a shot to beat UW, but until the game is over I will always be skeptical of that game because I almost run out of fingers and toes counting the amount of times I felt good about a win against them and we end up losing.

They have “ found a way to win” exactly 6 of the last 12 games they have played against us……which includes some of the best teams UW has  ever had.

Yeah they have just dominated the matchup……relax
