Why must you always speak from this place of cringey sanctimoniousness.

"MU fans don't have the stomach to endure 10 years of painful mediocrity then turn around and sell out an NBA arena on a Tuesdsay night for another mediocre-looking squad? Bad fans!  Except for me, Tower, who is one of the goodest fans!  So good, in fact, that I wanted to keep the currently unemployed Steve Wojo indefinitely! More fans should be like me!"

The program is obligated to excite its fanbase, not the other way around - never misunderstand that point.

The program hired a proven coach who has had success and has brought a style of basketball to Marquette that is exciting, new and part of a plan.

If the casual fan isn’t excited about it, then the casual fan can go pound sand at this point.

Speaking of not getting it.   I have been far less critical of Shaka than I was of Wojo during the same stretch of his stay at MU.

I wanted him to succeed.   I want every coach at MU to succeed.  His success was MU's success.
He hasn’t given too much to criticize quite yet. Meanwhile Wojo almost went 0fer in a bad Big East.

I have a very good feeling about the game tonight. I’m going with MU by 7.

Like it Goose...can't say I predict a W but I took MU +6.5, also did a $500 prop bet on Kam Jones at +106 to make 2.5+ 3 point shots.

Elon

I love the fact we have played a tough road game, guys got a lot of minutes on Saturday and Shaka should have a good game plan for Baylor. This team is better than they were a year ago and I think the boys will be ready.

I like your two plays tonight.

Let’s see if Shaka can get more than 4 wins. I’ll take the over!

Nice - That's my favorite retro jersey of all time.

I am FLOORED.  That was quite possibly the sexiest 1st half I have ever seen from a Marquette team.

Need a strong 2nd half to make it a sexy game.

So if we filter that through your lose by 3 to Georgia Tech predication, we are going to beat Baylor by 20+ and UW by at least 24  ;D

Brother TAMU...I hope you are right on both accounts.  What an absolute stomping.  That was beautiful.

Great call Goose!  Glad my Kam prop bets Kam through...attached!  Such a great win on the night they honor George Thompson.

Great win, Elon. Loved your Kam play.

Considering Kam averages roughly 8 3PT attempts per game, and he hasn't shot it to his ability yet this year it seemed like a good wager.  But, was getting a little nervous as he was sitting on 2 at the half and didn't hit the 3rd till 4:26 left in the game after he'd been riding the bench awhile.

"For a while against Baylor, Marquette was the Marquette of Shaka Smart's wildest dreams.

But the staff talked patience earlier Tuesday for a reason.

Nights like that have to happen...but they also have to happen again and again."

I LOVE this quote.  Nights like this have to happen again and again.  Wojo got big wins, but immediately had let down games.  Lost multiple times to Providence at home after beating Nova. Went on the road to beat #9 Creighton and then lost at home to Seton Hall.  There are plenty more let down examples.  Never were really able go successfully get to that next level.

That's the new challenge. Make yesterday the standard and not the final destination.  Would love to see this team mirror that performance into another win on Saturday.
