Unless I went to a different Joe Chapman wedding, he's definitely been married for almost ten years...

I thought that's what someone who would know told me. Maybe I am remembering wrong.

Joe Chapman getting married this summer might also be a contributing factor.

Joe's wife and kids are going to be awfully surprised.

Just saw the finals for $2M are set for this weekend. I have not watched a second and my interest level is near zero.

What a change from several years ago when I passionately yearned for the next MU TBT game.

I do hope we re-assemble a team soon.

Is anyone watching this year?

Do we really want to see Wojos guys go at it? All the Buzz & Crean guys that we saw success with are up there in age now.

Anyone who'd make the team competitive is either in the NBA, only at MU for 1yr, or Howard. Hopefully in a couple years we get a Shaka team together.

Yes.  I'd like to see basketball in the summer.  I'm a greedy pig like this.

Tbt still a thing? Haven't heard a word of it nor seen anything on tv

I watched the Syracuse/Kentucky game. Morsell was on the Syracuse team. UK rallied or Syracuse blew it, depending upon what a viewer's take was.

I didn't even realize the TBT was still a thing.

Quote from: Galway Eagle on Today at 09:14:45 AMDo we really want to see Wojos guys go at it?

Sure. I'd watch a team with, say, Markus, Stevie, Lewis, Henry and Haanif, along with, say, Morsell, Kuath and Jop. And who knows ... maybe even a coupla OGs like Jamil and DJO would turn out. Oh, and for Ners, Magic Dawson.

But I'm not watching an event filled with random guys with zero MU connection.

Maybe the Hauser brothers would be on the team.

Another lost chance at engaging the fanbase.  I bet Shaka is calling the shot on not having a team.

Unrelated, this guy showed up to our Saturday morning pickup run a few months ago.  He was second in overall points scored in the 2023 TBT, and I think in one of the last couple years he was one of the leading scorers in the league Thon Maker plays in?  Absolutely insane the levels there are to basketball.  He was just hitting 30 foot setpback 3s against double teams like it was layup lines.

If we have a TBT team, let's call it the Marquette Warriors and find out where the Willie Wampum head and the rest of the outfit is stored. It would be a nice tribute to old-timers like me, muwarriors69, and Willie Warrior. So it's not PC. SO what? Give us a chance to reminisce about the Al Era, when basketball was played at Marquette the way it should be. Once Willie Wampum takes the floor during a TO and the foot-stomping BAM bambabam starts, you'll all get into it. I guarantee it.

I think it puts you on a list, though.

Mr. Nielsen

It's been on FS1 and FOX. Down to 14 teams. 8 college alumni teams and 6 non-alumni teams. Splits into two separate brackets, with alumni teams playing on college campuses in a best of 3 series in the 1st round. Non-alumni teams competing in Las Vegas.

Great! But I want to borrow it for the TBT team.

And after quite a bit of thought (well, actually very little tbh), I have decided to offer Muggsy the HC position. One of the bench players can hoist him up on his shoulders so that he can address the team and also have a good view of what is happening on the court. This would be his opportunity to order the team to go full Medieval, attack attack attack, and either step on the opponents' throats or throttle them. Oh, also to eviscerate them. I like the word disembowel better, but I'm good with eviscerate.
