I'm hoping the do or die nature of the tourney gives us the edge we need. I think it's very possible it will

Individually, each team member must decide to give it his all, all game, every play.   Then the team needs to play as.... A team.   share the ball, select high percentage shots, group rebound.   And play disruptive D on every play.

Then...... we can win.   Go Marquette!

The good part is, despite having a lot of raw inexperienced players and most having never played together, this Rag-tag team through effort and coaching is going to the NCAA tourney.

Not bad.

Yep. I've had consistently low expectations this season (and for our tourney game) and this team keeps finding ways to surprise me. Here's hoping we make a splash this year, it would really help recruiting!

Arizona's starting PG went down with a bad ankle injury. We'd probably want to be in their region as the 8-9.

I guess we'll see but I'm starting to believe that right now our free fall has more to do with what we are doing wrong than what the competition is doing right.  The offense is simply pathetic.  They were playing better together in mid November than they are now.  And the biggest concern is that Shaka seems powerless to do anything to change things.  They have not played well in over a month.  Over that long a period of time you would think that he could try something different on offense to break through.  That is what worries me most.  If the future is as bright as many Scoopers want to believe Shaka is going to have to be able to fix problems without going into a tailspin.
Our whole offense was based on Kolek distributing the ball and players chucking up shots. Once the other teams figured out Kolek, MU had no organize offense. Very poorly coached in my opinion.

I've been down on this team for the last month or so but there's no reason to reiterate our frustrations. I hope this team brings back the winning ways to March. Gonna enjoy this week and hope the season extends beyond it.

Arizona has a backup pg who would start on the majority of high major teams in the country.

Even with Kerr out, Arizona is still probably my favorite to win it all.

First year coach has done a tremendous job. The Cats are for real.

We R Final Four

What we have done lately is all that matters.
This team is much different than December.
Will we turn it around? Maybe.....not looking good. I sure hope they do.
However, I don't feel real good about a win.

Actually, at this point, all that matters is what we'll do once the tournament starts. We'll see soon enough!

Let's both hope I'm right (for a change).

The latest bracketology I look at has MU (9) playing Memphis (8). I watched Memphis yesterday. They are quick and athletic, but undisciplined. I felt MU could beat them. Looking at the other 8 seeds this is the one I would want to play.

Hoping for a 10 seed today with Auburn or Duke as the 2. More likely the 8/9 seed in which case we're in bad shape but Baylor would be best case Of the 1s. Call me crazy but I'd take the Zags over Kansas and definitely AZ. AZ is as young as us but they'd eat our lunch. At with with the Zags they haven't been tested as much last couple months so could catch them off guard if we're hitting shots. But all the 1s are awful matchups for obvious reasons.

Of course all that assumes we could win what will at best be a coin flip in the first game. But would sure love a favorable draw, and ideally a Friday game!

Yes—lets hope for a drastic change from  what we have seen from this team the last month.

In fact I think 99% guaranteed because Marquette is "hosting" at the FF on Fri/Sun.

Not 99% but more likely than not. Lots of variables, though

Happy Selection Sunday!

ESPN's latest Bracketology has the Badgers as a 3 seed, playing in Milwaukee and opening against 14 seed Akron (then facing Colorado St or a play-in winner in the second round).

Marquette is listed as a 10 seed, playing in Indianapolis against Boise St.

Anybody could have said the exact same thing on Jan. 2 - and many Scoopers did.

But yes, I do understand why you and others are pessimistic.

There are other Fri/Sun locations they could be placed tho, no? Most seem to be on same page about this, and I'm
Not an expert at the bracketing process by any means, just curious if this is as hard and fast of a rule as some are making it. Truthfully, would just really prefer Fri/Sun, only reason I care. Another workday Thur game would be awful.

This would be fantastic imo. I've already got hotel booked for Indy, if MU lands there I'm in.

Anyone know if the university will put tickets for sale today/tomorrow or do I have to go with secondary market?
I'm not a season ticket holder but was previously a 4 game pack holder so I have an account.
I've never done the NCAA tournament so I don't know what to expect

Lunardi isn't good at what he does, so I'd pump my brakes.  That said, I'd probably get tickets myself to watch Akron beat UW-Madison

Season ticket holders get to place order for first round by Monday at 5 p.m. and tickets will be allocated based on points.  My guess is that MU Indy ticket allotment would be sold out to season ticket holders.
