Will be shocked if Providence makes the sweet 16. Luckiest team in America. Think it wears out real soon here.

Providence last run to the Sweet 16 was when they smacked Mike Deane and MU.

The Elliott playing is very confusing to me.  If he is not shooting well, which he is not, he brings nothing to the table.

Elliott helps space the court, as defenses try to account for him. Also, he is one of the few MU players who has been aggressively taking the ball to the hoop and drawing fouls, which is good because he's our best FT shooter.

Having said that, he's a defensive liability and a poor ballhandler, and I'd definitely play him less when he's not hitting his jumper.

That he and Kam have shot much worse the last few weeks has contributed greatly to our struggles as a team. It's hard to win in today's game without hitting 3s.

Yes, but our defense regressing is the bigger issue.....although there are a lot of issues.

I'm not lobbying for more PT for Greg. BCH said Greg "brings nothing," and I just explained why Shaka might disagree with that assertion.

I happen to think Greg's been playing too much, but darn, Shaka hasn't asked for my input.

I don't think this will be the last time in the next week that Providence gets smashed.

Creighton is so well coached.  McDermott has worked mini miracles after losing the heartbeat of his team - job well done!

I'd set the over under on Big East teams to make the Sweet 16 at 1.  Solid league but no absolute stud team(s).  Big 12 and Big 10 ultimately are so much tougher leagues.

Completely agree.  I hope we're wrong

I was tracking with you until you typed "Big 10". No natties this century.

There hasn't been a "B10" for a long time.  The league doesn't exist.

I wish teams looked at their schedules and viewed us as a problem.

I hope Nova kicks the crap out of UCONN.  I'm also pleased Creighton shellacked Providence.

They were a problem this year.

PointWarrior

Are Hawkins and O'Connell coming back?   Either way they have some players.

Creighton's freshmen matured fast. Nemhard hit a rough patch mid season and Mac started letting Trey play more point and let Ryan work off ball to take some pressure off. The transition to Alexander as lead point guard after Nemhard went down was so much more seamless than it could have been.

Despite our probs, the BEast tournament is by far the best.  It's not close.  Great job to secure MSG.

Hawkins is class of '16, so I doubt he has any eligibility left.  I think O'Connell is gone but I think they younger players are better

I actually think the opposite this season.

Don't forget, the BE had a nice OOC versus both the B12 and B10.

Also, the BE has several top 50 defenses, including 4 in the top 35 with Nova, SH, Creighton, UConn.
Only Providence and X are outside the top 50 defensively.
Defense wins games in the big dance.

I wouldn't be surprised to see 4 BE teams in the sweet 16, and would be surprised to see less than 3

Villanova, UConn and maybe Creighton are the only good chances I see.  Outside shot for MU for example.

UConn is the only team I can confidently say is equipped to make a run. Nova will be very matchup dependent.

I thought early in the year UCONN had F4 potential.  Nova could be in trouble against a team with bigs.

Daniel

9 minutes to go in Villanova / UConn game and Villanova just committed their 3rd turnover.   Wow.  Impressive.  That is taking care of the ball
