Fox Sports one is correct, he played 2 minutes.

Odd. The differences go beyond player minutes like rebounds. I am not convinced any of these are correct but I agree Fox's is closer to actual.

Did a quick fast forward replay of the game and pretty sure the line of 2 minutes and 0's across the board is accurate.  Biggest coaching mistake of yesterday was only playing Stevie 2 minutes..and there were several coaching blunders.

Stevie playing 2 minutes was such a head scratcher. I really don't get it. He gives the team so much energy on defense and sort of epitomizes the "havoc" style of play Shaka seemingly wants.

When Stevie slapped the floor in the second half against St Johns, the crowd went crazy. It was actually one of the cooler moments I'd seen at an MU game in a while.

In the tournament, I'd love to see us mix it up, go small, and give Stevie and Darryl the free reign to give the other team's guards hell man to man full court for an extended period. I think we'd like what we'd see.

Agreed, especially with the starting Creighton PG out and MU needing to press from behind.

100%  Alexander played 39 minutes.  He did hit some clutch, tough midrange shots in the second half, yet facing bulldog defense from Stevie for 20 minutes full court I suspect would have resulted in more turnovers and reduced second half efficiency.

Anyone have the correct MU vs. Creighton box score?

Marquette's has Stevie with 22 minutes.

ESPN and Pomeroy have him with 18.

Fox Sports with 2 minutes which I believe is correct.

Not your point, but it's concerning to me that Marquette's official box score could be this wrong - especially since you would think they maintain the "official" record books for Marquette.

Yep Stevie needs more time.  He is more of a threat than Kolek at this time offensively and defensively.

Bah, but how accurate was the Deflections white board?

BCHoopster

The Elliott playing is very confusing to me.  If he is not shooting well, which he is not, he brings nothing to the table.  Not sure who is softer, Oso or him.  He falls down on every drive, why.  Hope this is his last year as they need at least one big man to come in or two if Lewis leaves.  Lewis is very interesting player, hustles on O and on D barely moves his feet, really needs another year but doubt it, might be a two way player in NBA.

MUfan12

This is likely overly simplistic, but I'd bring Greg in off the bench and try to run some stuff to get him an open look. If he's hitting, he keeps playing. If he's not, he doesn't bring a ton of value.

Depending on the matchup, I'd like to see more OMax and Stevie, less Greg and the bigs.

They rebound like ass anyway, run more JL at the 5 lineups and be more disruptive on both ends.

BCHoopster

I liked Lewis at the 5 against certain lineups, gives MU an edge since both centers brings zero skill on the O side. Should have done that more with Joplin and Omax at the forwards during the year. Neither center really rebounds are all.

Kolek is the better player and only Shaka knows how his guys would respond to being benched, but I'd start Stevie for the first four minutes of our tournament game. This team has been lacking energy to start and I'm almost certain they wouldn't come out sluggish if Stevie was in there

MDMU04

Eye test only, but I think the small lineup with Lewis at the 5 has been the most productive on offense of late.  Lewis, OMax, Oso, Kam and Stevie/Kolek. Options to space the floor, and big time length on the wings on defense.

Lewis has the strength to bang down low, and he can actually handle Kolek's 95 mph passes from 5 feet away that neither Kuath or Oso have any chance whatsoever of catching.

Greg should be used as nothing more than a situational shooter or decoy option at this point.  It stinks, but he just looks lost out there.
