Here's how I see this in a real life situation. My niece and nephew are at MU and an emergency happens necessitating they go home. Or maybe they both are out of money. My niece (white and NA) gets nothing, my nephew (adopted Black young man) qualifies and gets help. How is that not blatant discrimination to deny one sibling because of the color of her skin? What about a Hmong refugee, or a DACA kid who can't get federal aid? MU should be above segregating our student body; help all who need it. Disappointing.

Look, any of us, including you, could find a whole lot of award-winning journalists of every race, creed, color, religion and nationality who could point out ridiculous amounts of racism on the Christian right ... and they wouldn't have pretended to know what Dr. King would be thinking to make their point. You and I know Dr. King every bit as well as Jason Whitlock does -- we never met him, either -- so I hope you'll agree with me that Dr. King probably wouldn't consider reverse racism or "critical race theory" to be big problems facing American society today. He was too busy dealing with actual racism -- you know, the kind espoused by "very fine people."

Oh, and CRT isn't being taught in schools, either. I give the right credit - truly - for turning that into a hair-on-fire talking point. They are SO much better at that kind of thing than independents and liberals are. Still, any inclusion of CRT in any argument immediately nullifies the argument.
