UCLA just landed in Milwaukee. Issue with their original flight was a crack in the cockpit windshield.

Airline pilots have gotten so soft.

Do we have an over/under on the number of times the announcers will refer to UCLA only arriving in Milwaukee 10 hours before tip off?  27?  I'm not downplaying the difficulty for them, but I'm sure it will be the only thing the announcers talk about, especially if MU some how keeps it close

Nice of MU to accommodate UCLA and inconvenience/alter the schedules of arena workers, MU fans, nearby bars/restaurants.

Wonder what would have happened if the Bucks had Fiserv tonight.  My guess UCLA would have gotten to MKE for the 1:30 tip.

Hopefully Scholl angled for another home and home with UCLA due to the accommodation.

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

They could have just cancelled.

Right.  Or played tomorrow, which would have been more inconvenient for everyone.

It sucks.  But thankfully people are safe and the game goes on.

Cancelled. UCLA should have forfeited.

A forfeit can't be recorded when there is a "breakdown of vehicles."  It would have just been declared a "no contest."

True.  Doesn't mean you don't leverage the inconvenience to negotiate for another home and home.  That aside if they did cancel they would still owe MU the return game of the original home and home contract.

Or you can just be flexible, figure it out and move on. Why use this as "leverage?"

MU Basketball is essentially a business.  When is the last time MU got a home and home with a blue blood program?

It's not some kind of dick move to ask for something in return for the inconvenience this reschedule causes on the MU/MKE end.

It's not an inconvenience worthy of another buy game. Otherwise they would have just gone home and scheduled it in some future year.

Just said "screw it, we're going", and bought two decent seats at a pretty good value for tonight. First game for me at Fiserv, first MU game for my son that he'll remember. Fired up!

Got some lower bowl tix at a great price. First game we will be seeing in person since the start of the pandemic. Let's do this!
Have some patience, FFS.

Didn't we play them in an empty gym last year? That cancels out this "inconvenience" on MU's end, imo.

Mr. Nielsen

Marquette played a rare 8:30pm Saturday night game on Dec 7, 2008.

Wisconsin couldn't stop Jerel McNeal, who scored 19 of his 26 points in the second half to power Marquette to a 61-58 comeback victory.

My statement was in jest, but it is kind of crazy that there is an official rule regarding this.

I said negotiate for another home and home..not a buy game.  Not a huge ask.  But I guess some mindsets feel asking is offensive, LOL.
