Marquette Overload

I was wondering if you guys could help me out.  I'm trying to compile every Marquette jersey ever worn.  Most of these jerseys are well before my time so I am relying on old Marquette Hilltop yearbooks and the library archives to determine which jerseys were worn when. The photos in these sources mostly come from home games so it is difficult to get photos of the road jerseys.

To see what I have so far go to www.muoverload.com > Media > Jerseys.

I have a few questions hopefully you older fans can help me with.
1) Was gold worn as the home jersey from 1988 to 1992?  Gold seems to be in the majority of photos and video from home games during this time so I am assuming they were the home jersey.
2) Was the white WARRIORS jersey from 1988-1990 a home alternate jersey?  A special event jersey?
3) Do the jerseys I have in the 1970s appear correct?  Looking at the old Hilltop yearbooks it appears a home and away jersey was used during the season then a new alternate jersey would be introduced at the end of the season which would be used the following season.

If anyone sees anything I may have wrong or has a better image of a jersey please let me know!

I don't have any answers for these, but the jersey page is worth the price of my Scoop dues.  Pretty awesome.

Man were the jerseys immediately following the Wade era jerseys brutal.

Well, there's a lot of owrk to do between 1918 and 1968, but what a great website. Loved the stats.

You're right. The Wade-era jerseys had a classic look. Shoulda kept 'em for a couple more years and then just done minor tweaks. I wish we still were in those jerseys.

Cool page, Marq Overload!

Yup.  Still working on that.  It's actually a bit easier because they kept the same jersey for a longer period and there's just a home and a road for the most part.

this is cool and a reminder of how much i dislike our current unis vs some of the ones of yesteryear. Thank you for your efforts! You deserve a 1000% raise of what we're currently paying you.

Are there any pictures of the 1982 road jerseys in that media guide?  The Overload needs those!

I actually just added a 1982 road jersey although the quality isn't great.

I have a couple actual '82 MU road jerseys at home.  I can take a pic and you can use it if you like it better than what you've got.

That is freaking sweet. A modernized version of that would be awesome.

Did they have to play in the top hats?

It's kinda wild that there's hardly any photographic evidence of the 98-99 road jersey.

I have this jersey in the table as an alternate for the 1998-1999 season.  I believe there should be a blue road jersey.

The font on these are nice.  And that Golden Eagle logo is way, way better than the "MU" logo Marquette has now.  Throw a big version of that on center court and it might actually look pretty cool.

The problem is that many alumni get triggered with any Golden Eagle logo.  IMO that's why you never see it in relation to the Men's Basketball team.

we need to go back to that golden eagle logo too with a slight modernization. The current one is a downgrade.

Agree 100%. The school has gone out of the way to barely mention Golden Eagles, and it's for exactly this reason.

Yes ... but they weren't allowed to wear tails.
