Very solid win.

One of unsung heroes was Joplin. Very limited minutes, but he had two big threes. I agree with tower that he will get more minutes as the season progresses.

Sorry if this was mentioned in another thread, but do we know how many deflections we had in this game?
Have some patience, FFS.

I believe they had 19 with about 1:00 left, but I could be wrong

Herman Cain

Excellent performance by our team. They fought and scrapped their way back against a team with some quickness. Lots of positives .

Still have no idea how things will go throughout the season.

But this team is damn fun.

Sir, I tip my cap to you for the post of the night.

So hard-working and tough. Even most of our mistakes are mistakes of aggression, and any coach can live with those. I love how quickly Shaka established this team's personality. Tons of credit to him.

We got better from Game 1 to Game 2, better from Game 2 to Game 3 and better from Game 3 to Game 4. Ya gotta love seeing that!

That chuck-it-in-from-32 shot by Lewis was huge, and then he rode that to a red-hot second half.

Joplin's 3 at the HT buzzer also was immense. He has gorgeous shooting form. He's gonna be a player for us, even if not all the time this season.

Kolek showed that a guy can have a major impact on a game without scoring.

Morsell does such a nice job of letting the game come to him. Great to see him swish all those FTs at the end.

Kam has absolutely no conscience. He very much looks like he belongs.

Even a few guys who didn't have great games - Kuath, Stevie, Oso -- had a highlight or three. Good team win even if 3 guys scored just about all of our points.

Thank goodness we finally got hot from 3. Needed 'em all tonight!

I've had more fun watching this team, than I did all last year.

BTW, love your nom de guerre - how's business?

We R Final Four

—Fabulous crowd—We are chants were loud!
—Shaka's improvements at half the last two games is something we haven't seen in awhile.
—Shaka said he wants to play 11 guys. He has an exceptional feel for which guys to play when. Kam sometimes.....Stevie other times.
OMax Joplin Oso Kur, etc.
—seems like it will be Kolek, J Lew, Darryl and the other two spots will be filled by whomever is playing best that game. Love it.

Great post, 82 - agree.

What I like is that we're no longer the vanilla Wojo team. I was PO'd when we were down 12, but in prior (7) years, that would have been it. Those days are over!

Thanks.

Though, if we're gonna be factual, we had many come-from-behind wins under many coaches over many years, including under Wojo. But yes, I love the way we're playing under Shaka.

Anyone else surprised to see Shaka subbing OMax in at the end of the game for defense...he sees something I don't?

O-Max closes out well and his length is disruptive. He made some great rebounds today. O game isn't there yet, but have liked some of his work on the defensive end
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

This team is just so damn enjoyable to watch. I know this team is gonna lose some games and probably won't make the tourney. But it will be a hell of a ride.

He hasn't shot well, but I think Kolek really adds a lot to the offense. His court vision and passing are better than we've seen at MU in a long time. He had 6 assists today and several other possessions where he put pressure on the defense. A welcome change from the stagnant offenses we saw the last several years.

Love that he kept shooting and made a three late in the second half.  Keep shooting!!!

Love what I'm hearing about Kam in practice!

And what he did tonight of course!

Milkshakes

Plenty of progress needed, however, over the last several years it was so tiring watching us blow leads and lose to teams that weren't as talented as us. We were so soft.  It has been so fun the last two games watching this team win versus more talented teams. The swagger, grit, toughness and identity is just awesome and makes being a fan fun. Looking forward to the roller coaster ahead with these guys.

Kolek definitely showing signs of having that "clutch" gene where he'll make a big play in the big moments. Love that backcourt with Morsell and Kolek.

The difference that I saw was he was set and square on the three he made late. Most of the others were rushed and/or he was still moving laterally when he shot. He, Kam, Stevie, and David will hopefully learn as they grow what constitutes a good shot vs. a bad one.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Tyler's gotta get a little more air under it and he'll be fine. His mechanics are sound. Easy enough to fix.
