It was a Friday night at 7:30p.  Normally that crowd is well lit.

Not against that opponent.

Students were great; everything else was pretty disappointing.  I was expecting a lot more energy out of the crowd on a Friday. It was stale.

It’s official, the entire Gameday script needs to be shredded and rewritten.

Crowd looked a little sparser than SIUE.

Exactly.  Based on SIU-E I was expecting big things on a Friday.  Despite what 79 says, MU has has some crapty opponents/ great games on weekend nights.

IMO, the non student crowd over performed on Tuesday and really under performed vs. UNH.

Let’s hope we’re all saving it for the ILL-INI

Honest question, do we often play UNH quality opponents on Friday? Cause in the 20 years of Fandom I can remember, I can honestly never remember the crowdv getting into a cupcake game

I imagine if donating would be your choices but would need to be vetted  ;D

Everything seemed disjointed last night. Had no idea when the band should play versus dj music. Even Snack Daddy seemed off by trying to mix too many songs together. Choices were weird and it just didn't work. My favorite was when they edited out the word sex from a Maroon 5 song.

MU has gotten a lot of negative feedback (calls, emails) about the DJ's/in-game hosts, but for whatever reason keeps them around.

And they were ranked. That was the best MU crowd at Fiserv to date. Lots of holiday cheer pregame.

I think gameday presentation, the giveaways, the music played, etc is a balancing act depending on who you're targeting. Most of the presentation is geared toward the students/younger alumni, and that's the way it should be IMO. The younger crowd is the programs future and they need to remain engaged. At age 67 I'm an old goat. I don't need to be entertained during timeouts and I don't need to be given stuff. I'm primarily interested in the game ( and a clear path toward cold beer at halftime).

So in terms of gameday presentation, whatever keeps the students coming and keeps them engaged is OK by me. I love the games where I don't have to see those yellow tarps covering seats at the rear of the student sections. Ring out Ahoya.

While it was a buy game, Buffalo definitely wasn't a standard cupcake. New Hampshire is closer to North Dakota State than they are Southern, but hosting #12 Buffalo is in a class by itself.

It was. 1,000 less in tickets sold. Much bigger crowd in the student section on Friday.

We haven't, annoying that that's apparently the only way to order Sobelman's. Can't walk up to the counter and order.

Well I am a month shy of 75 and I don't recall all the hoopla before the games; of course that was more than 50 years ago. They would announce the starters for each team, the prep band would play the national anthem usually sung by a student soloist; the students would all yell "give'em hell, Al" and they would start play. At half time the cheer squad would do their thing. I actually sung the anthem at a game and was greeted with the classic Bronx cheer; all in good fun because the soloist was usually a pretty coed.

Friday night was a smaller and more somber crowd than Tuesday.  I expected Friday night to be more lively.

Friday night's are great when the opponent is a big one.  Friday night's are terrible when you have a cupcake.  People are just going to find something else to do.  Ask any event planner, and they will tell you that it is the worst night to plan something unless it is something really big.

I have.  I thought it would be delivered to my seat but I had to go pick it up from a cubbie at the concession stand.

While I would prefer the delivery, it was nice not having to wait for food/drink.

I haven't had problems with the app crashing or anything but the menu options are pretty limited.
It looked like the pizza and bbq stands were open for walk ups and maybe a few others.
