I don't know much about Curro, but he seems like a complete tool from his Twitter presence.  People who make non-outlandish predictions based on what they hear and need to be praised when it comes true are obnoxious.

I would guess that Gainey has been told that the new coach will be encouraged to retain him as an AC. This allows Gainey to tell the players and recruits to hold steady. I would imagine the players were at least consulted about their thoughts on the new coach.

My checklist if I were Shaka:

Announce Gainey as his Associate Head Coach
Meet with the team
Meet one on one with the Big 3
Send Gainey on the first plane to Charlotte to shore up the Aidoo commit
Get in touch with Stevie
Pick other assistants but don't hire them yet
Send other assistants to do some back channeling with transfers, possible decommitts, etc
On his way back from Charlotte have Gainey stop in Philly and chat with Stevie
Make sure Joplin has his new address
Grab a bowl of Real Chili
Meet with Oso
Send Tyrese Hunter a "you up?" text
Get in touch with Kam
Meet one on one with Greg/Jamal
Meet one on one with the rest of the team
Get in touch with Kordell Charles (depending on how your feeling about the rest of the roster)
Grab a bowl of Real Chili
And that's just by Monday.

The first thing I would do if I were Shaka is decide if I want any of the current guys or incoming recruits. This is the time to start over. If he wants everyone to stay, I agree with your list. I hope he is bringing a shopping list with names of transfers on it and going from there.

Agree entirely. We have talked about getting a coach who actually has a "system". If that is the case, he needs his type of players. We will find out in due time how he feels about current guys. The fact that he recruited Dawson is a good sign. Lewis and Carton would seem like good fits, but we will see.

I'm mildly optimistic about keeping the core. We have the makings of something good again and here's hoping.

One thing of which nobody has spoken is the possibility that one or more of the seniors might stay for a fifth year. Theo, in particular, might do well from a change of scenery and change of offense. I'd love to see him in a Shaka offensive mode. Not sure that it matters whether Koby stays and would be interested to know people's thoughts on Jamal.

Assuming Greg and Osa stay, we have the core of something good. And, if we can flip a Texan or two.... WHOAAAAAA DOGGIE!

Kam Jones is as good as gone. Would be shocked if he stayed because he was a big Wojo guy.

Think Lewis stays in this scenario.

Hard for me to imagine a situation where Wojo goes somewhere that either 1) Our recruits would want play at or2) would want to play for him if he was hired as just an assistant.
